1986 K30 - Rapid Learning

Get 'er cleaned up and solid.
I don't have one either, but it might be worth checking with ORD. I'd bet dollars to donuts they have a stock knuckle they'd sell you.

@mrk5 just checked-in with them, we'll see what they say.

@sweetk30 do you still have a knuckle that you'd sell me?

that would be my call local if anyone has one .

i got 4-5 sets of them still .

i know the parts are getting harder to find used and rocky's out to cali they get even more fun to find .

like i said tho i can dig out my best north east rust belt knuckle and clean it up in the blast box for you if you still need one .

I have a set of stock Dana 60 knuckles for sale in Arvada. Really would like to sell the pair and not just one.

@PANCAKE that is completely understandable! How much for the pair?

As a buyer, my options are:
  1. Buy one off of eBay from Venture's Truck Parts for $155 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/King-Pin-Steering-Knuckle-Right-Hand-Passenger-Side-Chevy-GMC-Dana-60-Front/362218515395?fits=Year:1986|Model:K30|Submodel:Scottsdale|Engine+-+Liter_Display:7.4L|Make:Chevrolet|Trim:Scottsdale+Cab+&+Chassis+2-Door|Engine:7.4L+454Cu.+In.+V8+GAS+OHV+Naturally+Aspirated&hash=item5455e7ebc3:g:nEoAAOSwfoNaYnco:sc:USPSPriorityMailLargeFlatRateBox!80210!US!-1)
  2. Buy one from @sweetk30 for whatever price he's willing to sell to me for. Pay a big shipping bill (ouch).
  3. Buy the pair from you for whatever price you're willing to sell to me for. Have an extra knuckle sitting around (no big deal).
  4. Buy one from ORD if they ever get back to me (they haven't).
I am of course just going to go with whatever option is cheapest. Buying from you is certainly most convenient because I can come pick it up in person and get back to wrenching ASAP!! :saweet:

EDIT: Just found your thread, sorry about that! If you're willing to separate the pair let me know.

I vote for @sweetk30 he said he'd clean it up, and bet he'll make sure the threads are good, and tie rod taper isn't wallowed out.

I haven't seen it when I looked real quick. But a while back I bought NOS dana 60 knuckles for my axle build for like 200 shipped from ebay.

I am off of work until August 3, and I am itching to get Phase 1 finished before I go back. Since the knuckle thing is in progress I started building my shopping cart for the rest of the front end.

Shopping list:
  • One brake rotor [CENTRIC 12166003]
  • One brake pad set [CENTRIC 10205430]
    • RockAuto told me that one set was enough for one axle, so I guess this comes with four pads.
  • One inner spindle nut [DANA 660568]
  • Two wheel seals [TIMKEN 415960]
Hopefully I can get all of this stuff off Amazon or something - RockAuto won't ship to me anymore.

I am worried about seals - there are probably more that I need. Gonna go look at my parts in the garage.

The PO included one with the truck. It has surface rust on it and whatnot, but it's otherwise new.

Do you have the seals for the king pins?

Yeah I bought all new stuff for the kingpins upper and lower. The knuckles are installed already aside from those few bolts that won't torque down. Were you referring to something aside from upper/lower seals?
