1982 and newer has to go to Air Care Colorado [Enviro Test]. I'm not sure but I think the $400.00 does not include missing components. It must have the equipment it came with or equipment that is C.A.R.B compliant.Seriouly though, @Justin V had a guy. His 79 "passed"
Make that call and find out. If it fails, then use the parts purchase as part of your $400 repair limit (they still do that part right?)
Yeah we have a similar one here limit $5001982 and newer has to go to Air Care Colorado [Enviro Test]. I'm not sure but I think the $400.00 does not include missing components. It must have the equipment it came with or equipment that is C.A.R.B compliant.
First pic rad support sticker says it should have 2. I should have an extra laying around, I might even have a stock intake as well.the evap canister is there
Definitely not catalytic, Major plus.
Not sure on the EGR, but the intake does NOT have an EGR plate
the manual choke is a no, I don't see a provision for egr. the evap canister is there, need vacuum line/s from carb. vac advance will need a thermal vacuun switch in the cooling system near t stat.
the whole air injection system is missing.
the hot air stove on exhaust manifold is there. a lot of work is needed to make this pass visual.
The original setup would have had two smog pumps, two charcoal canisters and a spark arrestor in the air cleaner. I have most of the pieces, but not the lines that screw into the exhaust manifolds.
This!! An a flap wheel/die grinder on the raised lettering. And not only that if you add enough hoses and a big air cleaner the "techs" at the sniffer shop would probably be clueless.I’ve painted intakes black and made a bracket for the EGR before

I forgot this was a big block truck. The emissions equipment is the same anyway. So you are missing the air pump and pipes, but have the correct exhaust manifolds with pipe plugs. The intake and carb are wrong. No EGR. The manual choke is a negative but since the carb is wrong it really don't matter. Not sure what you have for an air cleaner, but I'm guessing it's not stock since it's got the intake and carb on it. That means you need a stock air cleaner for it too.
I'm way out of the loop on the emissions testing game since I've been in Pueblo for 17 years now. I'm certain the engine running right should pass the test for an 86 without the EGR and stock intake/carb. But what I don't know is how tight are they on the visual? I'm wondering if you were to put a stock air cleaner and pipe to the exhaust manifold and run into the test station and see if they call it out. The emissions label does not have a list of equipment on it to validate against. I'm just curious about what they refer to when an old truck like this comes in.
