Get 'er cleaned up and solid.
I’ll let Zoo read those codes
According to his spid label it's not listing a specific emissions option code. FE9 would have been federal emissions, YF5 would have been California. There was a high altitude emissions package, but that isn't showing on the spid either.

I'd say by default since it doesn't list the California emissions package, it's probably Federal.

interesting, I thought that C.A.R.B. was only a California thing. the more you know!

It is, but if you replace original parts, then CARB ok means it’s also Federal ok, AFAIK

Is there another sticker on rad support? Could have been on oem air cleaner housing.
Most emissions standards require and automatic choke, so eng doesn't run rich for any longer than necessary. Manual choke might be forgotten, or miss used.
Anyway the truck came with an automatic choke.
1 thing in Kommiefornia, if the part is not available, anywhere, you can get an exemption. A new quadrajet is not available. Remains are but I don't like the sweat shop rebuilds. They ruin the castings when they clean them

Thanks man. I knew I had to get the smog pumps. I wonder where the second charcoal canister goes inside the engine bay?

It was up on the fenderwell. Somewhere I have pictures of all the smog stuff before I removed it.

Found some of the old pictures. The second canister is next to the overflow bottle. The engine was literally buried in smog equipment. The driver's side was slightly open.

Okay, I am going to lay it all out according to my understanding. Do me a favor and correct me if you see something incorrect. Thanks for the help guys.

To pass visual:
  • Must add 2 air pumps.
  • Must add 1 evap/charcoal canister.
  • May need to get rid of manual choke.
To pass actual emissions/sniff test:
  • May need to put stock intake and carb on.

I've never seen a truck with two smog pumps. I'm not sure where that one is coming from.

I thought that there were two pumps based on the responses and pictures from USSkoval - one per exhaust manifold.

I may just have the terminology wrong - perhaps there is just one pump with other components at each exhaust manifold.

Do you have a bracket doing nothing under your alternator?

Hopefully I did that right. Doesn't look like it. And now that I'm out here I think I found my second EVAP can:

Yeah I thought that evap was there. You need 2 because of the extra fuel tank.

Man I am thinking that I should install the AIR injection system and just take it to emissions testing to see what happens.

EDIT: Getting one of those AIR injection systems and all of the connections is going to be interesting.

I believe doorman has the injection tubes. The pump should be available remain, pay core, or any old pump you can lay your hands on.
Diverter valve should be available new, as well as check valves.

Then you would some hard ware nut bolts,a pully, belt, vac line, large hose.
