1989 Crew Cab Tow Rig Build

Looks great, one thing I see there is probably no bueno. The hose connecting your Clutch res. to the Master is going to start leaking in the not to distant future.

Fuel line will not live long in brake fluid service. You need EPDM Rubber. I know you can get it from Mcmaster Carr. Also lots of motorcycle applications use it for brake hose. I think I bought mine on Ebay? No local shops around here carry it. They also will tell you that power steering hose and/or fuel hose will work. Simply not the case. It is used a lot for weed sprayers and such so you might try a tractor supply store or IFA. No one around here has 5/16 ID so I had to order it in.

Now go put those rims on the truck so we can see it in all its glory.

That line is temporary. I just didn't want the reservoir leaking until I get the motor and drivetrain all back in. I'll swap out the hose when I bleed the clutch system.

Thanks!

Good deal then. Cool to see your truck going back together so nice and clean. This truck is going to be a sweet ride.

I have a cheap set in my cart on eBay but I’ve been too afraid to buy them. Probably the same ones you got! They look good!

Link? I toss around adding cab lights. Cheap would be good since they might get wrecked by branches on the trail.

Amazon, $20: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0744CYBL8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Cu3BAb35G7JPD

Now that is just for the lenses and the little LED bulbs (not including the wiring harness or mounting hardware). The LED bulbs just fit into my factory wiring harness and I reused my mounting hardware. So if you didn't have cab light factory, don't know how much they will help you. I think I have seen before there are cab light kits that come with harness and everything to put cab lights on a truck that didn't have it originally.

I freaking love the look of cab lights on CCLB square bodies, I don't know why I just think they are so cool looking. I say you put them on your truck, would look cool :waytogo:

Same exact ones I was looking at other than I was going for the complete set. I Have the wiring and everything but one of my rubber bases is missing and a couple others are a little rough.

All my rubber bases were surprisingly in good shape and all the factory bulbs worked, but I had some lenses that were cracked and falling apart. Was just looking for lenses but when I found that set with LED bulbs I decided why the heck not, ya know?

Yeah if they fade and look crappy in a couple years spend another $20.00 and do it again!

For those of you interested in not just cheapo's Truck-lite part number 1313A is for good cab lights just like factory. They come with the rubber bases and short pig tail on each one as well.

I was just thinking they had one. I have used the Ford Super Duty ones from Truck Lite but couldn't remember a part number.
