1989 Crew Cab Tow Rig Build

Amazon, $20: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0744CYBL8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Cu3BAb35G7JPD

Now that is just for the lenses and the little LED bulbs (not including the wiring harness or mounting hardware). The LED bulbs just fit into my factory wiring harness and I reused my mounting hardware. So if you didn't have cab light factory, don't know how much they will help you. I think I have seen before there are cab light kits that come with harness and everything to put cab lights on a truck that didn't have it originally.

I freaking love the look of cab lights on CCLB square bodies, I don't know why I just think they are so cool looking. I say you put them on your truck, would look cool :waytogo:
I always like the cab lights on the super duty we had. Also like the marker lights on the side mirrors to, but I can't think of a good way to do those on the crew cab and not look janky.

You said the engine is on order right? When's it supposed to be in?

Yeah, it's ordered. I ordered 4 weeks ago, and probably have another 4 weeks before it is shipped. So most likely next month it will show up. Once it shows up it will go in real quick. So a little while to go until things get real

Been waiting for my motor to show up (word I got last week is hopefully be on their engine stand this next week, and as long as all goes well, possibly ship the week after, we shall see). So in the meantime decided to do some work on my trailer. When I went snow wheeling last time, I messed up my factory wheel wells on the trailer, so did a project I’ve wanted to do for a while and built my own drive over versions. I built them just a bit taller as I’m considering swapping to 5200 lb axles and a little taller tire on this thing in the future, so gave myself room for that...still does fine for the time being too

And all done and painted. I think they look pretty good and are actually functional now for when I tow my blazer. And I built them wide enough that pulling a normal car up there will be no problem at all. I’m happy with the outcome

Looks real good man. It reminds me that I really need my own trailer.

One day I want to pick up a gooseneck long enough to haul two rigs on as well. That way for short day trips I have this trailer to use, or for longer hauls, use the gooseneck. One day

The grass is always greener lol.

I have the 30ft gooseneck, and find myself wanting an 18 footer for the daily trips and even the trips where I tow my own stuff.

Exactly why I will have two trailers :D. It's kinda like my philosophy that every one of my vehicles needs two sets of tires for the different uses...haha

Wow, I've heard of people hauling way more than these trucks were designed for, I my self will probably be pushing 20K GCWR, but with an upgraded power train to pull it. I do still have some reserved thoughts about 2500# in the bed and 11K behind it, and how the rear frame will handle that.
It's just the brakes if you are riding them with a big load like that.
The truck can take it.

Really dig the fenders! I have a messed up fender on mine but idk if I want to fix it or build a new trailer... either way I think this will happen!
