1990 K5 Build ( Ol' Blue ) : Rocker rust...

Good stuff Adam! I need to do mime soon!

Had been waiting for mine to let loose since I've owned it. Especially when I started with the longer travel go fast stuff. Hoping it holds up for a long while now :waytogo:

Mine looked like the seal popped out and then the three round parts came out, causing the ball to no longer stay centered.

Thanks a lot deuling! i have ordered the parts you listed and when they come in along with the spacer i will tackle that issue.

I havent been doing much to the blazer lately and to try and get back into the swing of things i tried to tackle my dash lights. I had ordered some LED bulbs but after they didnt work i went and bought some 168 original bulbs so atleast i could get the thing back together. I had removed the old connectors and managed to get the bulbs out.. They were pretty stuck. After getting them out i put the new ones in and no luck.. I have tested the spots in the dash with some other connectors and bulbs that arent burnt out and they work, but no luck with the new bulbs in the old connectors. Anywhere sell those little locking connectors? Has anyone had issues replacing bulbs in the dash?

I should add that im cursed with anything electrical in my life so its really not my thing...

any help would be appreciated.

:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Shot in the dark Nick... is the dimmer switch turned up??

Or try a different cluster, not sure on what years will work for your blazer but might be worth a try. :dunno:

yea i had the lights turned on and the truck not running. The spots in the cluster work since the working bulbs and connectors work in the other holes in the cluster.. Im about to start digging in the LMC catalog as much as i hate to, since shipping on those little things will probably be the cost of a locker for the 14B SF :haha:

Dis guy has everything :D

Tell me about it! i cant thank him enough for the front core support, both axles and some other odds and ends. A small update, i was tinkering around with my dash last night and i saw that the twisty thingys have been replaced before and its printed on it to replace the entire unit, So im assuming thats why the bulbs were hard to get out and why they dont work with new bulbs in them. i have found a place online that sells them but they arent the cheapest and lights in my dash are not my biggest concearn. I will probably do some more research into the LED thing and go that route. Well with that being said i was fed up with the dash being apart so i have reassembled it and gave it a coat of flat black.. It turned out looking good. I do have a small thing for flat black though.. haha:whistle:

I also had a small leak in my rear differential so i fixed that. All the small odds and ends had me feeling a bit unmotivated. I will be ordering all new SS brake and fuel lines in the next 4-5 days from inline tube. The cost is aprx 700$ shipped with duties and all. After seeing renes im convinced it is worth it. Plus itll give me alot to do. I can then sand and por15 the frame that becomes exposed in that area, planning on dropping the tank and doing the rear of the frame aswell. In the mean time i will continue to clean up the 10 bolt and get parts for it along with hauling the 14 SF over here and doing the same with that one. I was thinking ARB but might go a different route, Im not too familiar with lockers except for detroit and what not, so im not too sure where im going to go with that.

No problem Nick! If you think of something you need just ask, I might have it sitting here. :dunno:

I don`t have any clusters from 82 and up though, most of my crap is earlier.

Borrow anything he has, except for his damn saw. Really, stay away from that thing... :eek1: :haha:

The build is looking good man. Keep it up. :waytogo:

Thanks, i really appreciate it.
My cluster is bit f'd up like most of them. Previous owner was not very patient when it came to pulling it out as almost all the tabs are broken..:doah:
Other than that, i have quite a bit to rebuild, 2 axles, front clip, fuel and brake lines anmd front drive shaft, should keep me busy and broke for awhile.

Today i was tinkering with my grille, Around the time i acquired this a buddy had let me use his garage to some work and poking around, He was helping me swap all ujoints and ball joints as they were destroyed.. In the meantime he was unaware that my safety neutral switch was NOT functioning due to a car starter that was installed..... LONG story short he started the truck without depressing the clutch in 1st.. Lets just say this thing would make a wicked push buggy.. It almost went through the garage wall.. pushed the work bench through the drywall and knocked about 6-7 studs off the bottom plate. If his wall wasnt curved before.. it sure as **** was now. :haha::bow:

anyway the point of this way that my grille took some beating...
and today i got it glued back together and looking good in my eyes.
I hate waiting on parts... id love to do more to this thing today..
also fixed the leaky oil pan.

Not fair when you get to count Loonies and Toonies as change.:haha:And no fair, you have US currency in there.

Only Canadian funds allowed. Like this. Yes, it's a current picture. Check the background.

His saw is a good time....trust me :thumb:

Loonies and toonies are change, id like to just make a few things clear..
1: me posting that photo of change was simply for pure hilarity as i have been saving it for a year and thought itd be a funny thought to pay for fuel and brake lines in change.
2: im not sure what your purpose of showing a thousand or two bucks in 20's was... If your looking at starting a little pissing match or showing off im not interested, as a single 25 yr old crane operator in the oil and gas industry in alberta, im not impressed either.....
3: if your motive was not of anything i assumed then i apologize but if it was please keep that bs to yourself and contribute with positive and good things to discuss or anything else related to this thread. And if youd enjoy posting more photos of your money please also add your home address :)!

Easy killer, I'm sure he is just playing...specially because he's 'merican with a good chunk of our monopoly money to take pics of. I'm more interested in why he has a nice little fan of our 'green ones'? :dunno:

Yes, this was it. It's odd that a guy from Nebraska happens to that much in Canadian cash sitting on the desk at the time of your photo. I was just joking.

To answer tRustyK5 I just got back from Canada fishing two weeks ago. Going back in September. Met with the realtor to buy a place where we have been going fishing for the last 20 years. It was seed money for a Canadian bank account as they want $1500 minimum in the account to avoid monthly fees. We looked at a couple properties but didn't make an offer yet so I didn't drive down to Kenora to open the bank account. Looking in NW Ontario north of Lake of the Woods in the Winnipeg River. Hope to make an offer before or when we visit in September. I love it up there.

I do really like the Canadian money. So thin. 100 bills fits in the same space as 50 of ours.
