1990 K5 Build ( Ol' Blue ) : Rocker rust...

Got a good chunk done today, i didnt take many progress pictures as itd be the same as the other side. Got the front patch por 15'd. And the rear seam sealed for now. Im not sure how much of this stuff you are supposed to use... I am definitely genrous with it. I figured it couldnt hurt... Plus i might aswell use what i have instead of hucking it out when i move. This time with the rear, i didnt shape the patches to contour with the existing lines.. I just cut and welded pieces in place of those bends to make my life a little easier with this 14g steel. I dont really care how it looks, as long as its rust FREE...

Thisus missus has three pedals?

yesss ma'am! main reason i bought the truck. I passed up a few k5s just because of the auto's. good thing because this one actually turned out to be one of the best ones i could find

sm465 hydro clutch

I need to go hydro eventually.
I said that on my last rig, too. 15 years later I sold or with the mechanical still in it.

:dunno:

I will say these two words:
Hand throttle

Take an old bike brake lever from the used bin at a cycle shop or fooked over bike. Bolt it to the shifter. The 2-3" levers work best, set it to run about 2500 rpm max...

Haha funny stuff! I always wanted to try POR 15 but I keep forgetting about it. Maybe after I patch my floor. Looks good once again! Keep it up!

I don't think its any miracle liquid, but it does harden, and coat the steel well. Better than just a coat of paint, thats for sure.

And thanks! its a great burden off my shoulders now that these 4 cab corners are fixed. The tail pan is next.. not sure when that'll happen. Rear quarters are starting to go swell ,But i think I've caught up enough now the rust won't get away from me and ruin the truck

Write down the date you spilled that and see how long it lasts!

hahah, that'd be a good test. too bad I'm renting and also moving in 2 months. It'll prove itself by me having to find a solvent to remove it.. wonder what it'll take haha

And then light it on fire! You know the wipes called wet ones? I lit one on fire just to see if it would burn. Turns out they burn EXTREMELY hot because I couldn't see the flame and burned the crap out of my hand when I picked it up to throw it away! Sorry... Off topic lol

Seriously though, if solvent doesn't lift it, sometimes heat and a scraper will work
