Exactly that. It stood out alot more before I damaged the fender, and I only did that to " even " it out... Haha

No real updates... Did strip and clean the knuckle and touched up the box with the wire wheel also. I'm thinking I may do the knuckles, diff covers, and crossover in a grey tone,probably darker.. not sure, so no paint yet. But now to send the knuckle for machining. They said it will take 1-4 weeks because they machine it while they have a switch over on the machines already running. I still have to make a rock auto purchase anyway for front end parts.
Plus it's raining like everyday in this jungle..

Can I cut these bolts off on this knuckle?

One piece of the puzzle, still waiting on the call for the knuckle and crossover kit to be ready. Woke up sore as hell from snowboarding but when I'm here in Nanaimo I may as well use the driveway I have so today I tackled the blower motor, door locks and window motor.
Now I may catch slack for cutting the hole in the door but I did it on the driver's side and it's just been such an easy when changing the motor and I've had bad luck with them so far so lots of changes have happened. My k5 came with the felt pannel at the bottom of the door so it's completely hidden. I may also patch them one day when Im finally done with these but for now they stay. When I hooked up the motor at first and then tested it it made quite a bit of off noises when operating. So I thought maybe it didn't set in the regulator gear properly, so I took it out and then operated it to ensure the motor was working properly. It was stiff and inconsistent but after working it up and down for awhile it smoothed out and works well now. So nice to roll down my window. I'm always that guy who gets out of their truck to chat on the trail because my windows suck haha.

You can cover that with sticky insulation and it could probably be quieter than before.

I’m gonna take a 3inch hole saw to my door next time I need to swap a mirror on mine. But my doors aren’t in great shape anyway.

haha youre probabaly right! I just dont see the point in removing the glass and regulator just to swap the motor...
no doubt! these doors were in 99% imaculate shape... but have since had some damage, the hole for the window motor is the least of the doors worry. I did find an american quarter from 1981 in side the door. not sure how it got there but its cool to know someone at some time thought " ahh **** no one will ever find that anyway " but here i am.... 30 years later finding their damn change haha!
the small things are so nice... like HEAT! wow defrosting my windows in the morning wont take a pot of coffee.. a passenger door that unlocks with a key!? whats next!? a working tailgate motor key... only god knows haha

Was a nice trip up to the mountain as well on Friday. Maybe I'll get to do some snow wheeling this winter living up island more!
