1990 K5 Build ( Ol' Blue ) : Rocker rust...

even though no one has verbally shamed me but you, i feel like the k5 gods have put the fair share onto me today
I was kidding, I forgot to add the obligatory :haha:.

My apologies.

It's the little things right?

Where'd you get that blower motor? I'm looking to replace mine.

Off rockauto. I think it came to 32 bucks with the motor and fin as one piece. Rockauto is gold for most parts.

Them darn Canuckians in Canuckia actually make tons of stuff that end up on my trucks...

I'm surprised that I see more Hecho En Canuckia than I do China...

The old and NEW say MADE IN CANADA

I was surprised that they ended being the same company too

Hahaha

yeah even my bds springs said made in Canada on them. Nothing's better than seeing made in USA or made in Canada. Makes me willing to spend more just to support ourselves.

I've been working for my old boss for 2 weeks before I go up island to live for a few months. Calls me and says he's got a Xmas bonus for me (100$) and I'm super stoked, so I head over and then he hands me this steering wheel and says I can have it also. Its the exact same diameter as mine. He got it from a swap meet where the guy claimed it was an original from an old cobra. Not sure if that's true but either way it's rad and a dope ass gift. I always feel odd excepting expensive things but oh well what can ya do if they force it haha. He gave me an adapter but he's not sure if it's the same spline. So when I do the crossover I will do the wheel at the same time.

I still haven't received any crossover parts but I will be calling them tomorrow to politely ask then wtf is taking so long. I finally had some decent weather today to start sanding down the fenders I have. I have never done anything like this but the damages to them both are small, except one decent sized ding near the turn signal, so I imagine it'll turn out okay. The primer I applied is a sanding primer and I marked a few spots with a finger X where I need to take more off with the palm sander. Primer does a good job at showing you you're mistakes.

Had to go chase some mountains and snowboard since we got around 8-9 ft in 2 days here on the mountain. Snowboarding was a blast but today it was miserable out so I made some progress on the fenders. Should I apply a non filler primer over this filled primer I have before paint, wondering if the finish would be nicer. Also rock guarded the underneath of the fender lip and all along the inside of the fender.

My roomate dropped a valve or broke a rod in his 2005 1500 vortec motor (5.3L) he is selling the truck with the motor being junked. Im wondering if this is the correct year and size of vortec head id be looking for in regards to a vortec head swap on my 350 at some point. Im assuming if he did either of this things the heads could be potentially uber fugged up, but i figure free heads are worth their weight if the repairs are in the 200-300$ range. Ive been looking online for the past 1-2 hours, and its basically summed up by saying ive just read arguments about who thinks their right, so im posting here, dont want to waste my time taking the heads off if they arent the ideal vortec heads for a swap.

thanks in advance!

Going to do a final coat when it's nice and sunny out... May be waiting awhile... Good for now though.

Anyone ever had a self destructing blower motor hahaha .Couldn't find out why the fins exploded and took out the housing... But oh well. Looks like I'll have to throw some tape over the hole for now until I can get to a wrecker for the entire housing.
