1995 burb SAS: Rockwells and 47s.....

How much bigger of a tire would you guess that you go with before they would rub when turned?

With NO trimming? I couldn't definitely say, but i would guess 40's with no trimming. Since I see you're doing a SAS too, i would suggest 56" front springs if you wanted to run bigger with no trimming. It would allow you to move the axle forward more, then you could build a bumper to accommodate the clearance up front.

This picture best represents the wheel well opening, even though im a little embarrased i left all that IFS junk on the frame. Those are 36x13.5 iroks on 16x10 inch wheels with 3.5'" (I think, maybe 4") backspacing.

Thanks. I am just looking to run some stock H1 wheels and tires (37s)on dually axles and was curious how much room there was. Looks like it will be fine though. Really appreciate the pic even with the "IFS junk." :D It shows just how much room is there.

I got a little bit of work done on the burb today. I couldn't find my stock passenger side kingpin cap, so i had to cut my drivers one to allow the shock to clear. Worked on cleaning the frame a little, and rolled one of the new tire up to see what it would look like..

The wheels in the new tires are rockwell pattern, any suggestions where to get some new centers?

And the clocking ring is in

No kidding! Those tires are known to snap 60's in a heart beat. But, if you do want to run them on your eight lug stuff, I would check the mud forums like ih8mud and the mud section of pirate4x4 to see what those folks are doing for centers.

Just get some rockwells........

Give me some...

He gave me Rockwells. :waytogo:

I got 47" LTBs.

For some reason I can only load one picture right now. If I can remember, I'll update with more later today. This thing is going to be big.
Going to swap back to a stock case so I don't have to mess with the shift linkage of the thing.

Wheel brakes up front and DIY4x pinion brake out back.
Stinky fab racing rockwell cylinder mount.
Full PSC hydro steering.
Using ruff stuff simple swap kits.
4" lift 52s up front
Stock 63s with add a leaf and small block.
Should end up with the full 16" of travel at each corner. Mostly droop.
H1s with trail worthy fab rockwell centers.
Ouverson mini spool in the rear.
Detroit front.

Subscribed. Just out of curiosity, where did you get the tires from and how much did they cost?

Scott

I ordered them from 4 wheel drive hardware. Shipping was a killer because I live in Alaska. I think they were around 2800$ shipped.

For years everybody claimed they couldn't get the 47" ltbs. I heard they had shipped the molds to china, but never restarted production. These tires say made in China right on them, but almost every place I called said they had plenty in stock.

This past Labor Day weekend, I was up on the Rubicon trail for an annual event. I was talking to a guy that has 47" LTBs on his buggy and he said they started making those tires again about two weeks prior to Labor Day. Reason why I was asking about them in the first place is because I'm looking to get a set for my rig.

The first picture is next to a 15/35x15 tsl for reference.

And the pics are at wonky angles. Just deal with it.
