1995 burb SAS: Rockwells and 47s.....

Looks great with the Rockwells under there! What springs did you use up front and how far is the axle from the crossmember under the engine?

Scott

The springs are 4" lift 52s. The front of the spring is in the farthest forward hole. Even with 56s, that's as far forward as you can go with Kerts kit. The factory front crossmember is cut out, and I fit down a gmt 400 receiver to be cut down and welded it in between the frame rails up front. In the near future, I plan on adding another crossmember behind the axle, under where the engine/transmission bolt together.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It had been a long road, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

How the heck does that thing fit in a garage? Is it a standard height door?

How has your health been doing?

So crazy. I couldnt imagine actually being enough of a big boy to need rockwells!

Need? Need and rockwells don't normally end up in the same statement :haha:

Rig looks badass!

I really want to SAS a 96-99 2500 burb. White like yours

"Need" with these tires and the terrain we traverse go hand in hand. It was either put a bunch of money into tons (my 14 bolt was bent as hell. Like, REALLY bent) or go Rockwells for a really good price.
Ben, 8ft garage. 3-4 inches to spare. 3 months and 2 days since a smoke. They say I'm good as new when it comes to health.

I was just giving you a hard time. Truck looks awesome. Can't wait to see some action photos.

Did you do much wheeling with the old set up?

Martin

Absolutely zero. The axles were out of my k5 blazer, that's how I bent it. I did flex it out once and I can say the stock height 52s had way more droop than the 4" lift springs.

Looks awesomer my 95 was the same color combo which I would guess as pretty common
I painted the lower rockers and flairs a dark argent silver which looked pretty good

Any plans for an excursion out with it soon?

New Years is the plan. I still need to get my new brake booster in, install the power steering pump, run all the steering lines, re-do some brake lines (eliminating the ABS computer) put in the rear drive shaft, build a crossmember out back for shock mounting, install my new fuel cell and run lines/wire the pump, need to pull the orbital and finish welding the mount up, have a front driveshaft built (1350), build/install bumpers, and then I should maybe be close.....

Very cool
Good luck on the pending items
Seems like there is always a list to work on!

New booster in. Steering pump in. Lines half way ran. Now in drunk. Time to receive drunk thread.

We should be working on this thing not watching Indiana Jones......

Mounted the steering reservoir.

I think the Stinky Fab mount is meant to use a smaller 8"x2" ram. Im using a 9"x2.5", so it was kind of a tight fit. This was the only way the clamps would work.

Orbital.

Power steering cooler
Before we added another front crossmember and dropped the front spring hangers 2 inches.

How it sits now.

Here you can see the small crossmember we added between the frame and front spring hangers.
