1998 2wd to 4wd, CCLB SAS

Dang thats nice! so is the mount going to be built right off of the adapter? Also is the transmission going to fill that space in the adapter with fluid or will it be dry? But it’s looking really good can’t wait to see it done!

The mount is right on the bottom of the adapter, didn't have a chance to get a picture of it just yet. The adapter should stay pretty much dry. The hole in that front flange is just a bit bigger then the output shaft so should keep most the oil out. Heading back to the shop in about an hour to wrap things up, I'll post more pictures this evening.

I have a plan for that, should be simple. Have found that's why most people add a bunch of lift when doing a SAS, avoids clearance issues, lol. Lots to consider and customize with a low lift, that's the fun part though. More updates coming soon...

I just did straight duals for the exhaust, clears everything just fine and was crazy simple. Was able to go pretty much dead flat all the way back and it clears everything.

Almost ready for test drive. T case is in and driveshaft is shortened, finish checking over a few things and put some oil in the case and it's back driving. Might end up lowering the carrier bearing a bit to take some angle off that front joint but I'll see how it drives first.

Slowly getting closer, gears are here in a few more days.

Well the list is done, other then assembly of the axle. Gears will be here tomorrow, but in this small town we aren't always able to pick up packages on Saturdays, so will see. Really close to being complete now.

Do need to get the driveshaft balanced though. I got the bind out of the u joints but there's a small, speed related vibration so I'll find a shop that can to that and get it to them.

So here's a question I can't seem to find the answer to. On the back of the t case there is one wire coming out, diagram says it's for a clutch coil. Anyone know what the clutch is for? PTO? 4 wheel?

Also another afterthought, does anything need to be wired to the ECU for correct operation and shifting in low range?

It looks like it just needs 12V from a relay when you shift into 4wd. Does it have a 4wd indicator light that you could trigger a relay off?

Does it keep constant power to it while in 4 wheel drive or just a momentary signal from like a push button on the shifter while shifting in to activate the clutch. I can look one up Mon on alldata at work. I don't remember my login to do it away from work. I might even have a Motors manual that shows it too.
