2000 GMC SAS: Hydro assist assistance

Sounds like you came right by my stomping grounds. Holler the next time you come up this way, especially with the GMC. I'd like to check it out.

I posted a topic about it in the garage, didnt get a single reply. I had an extra day to burn on the trip but couldnt find anything to do with it, so I came home. I will next time for sure.

My buddy bought a samurai and we decided to make a run up to big red to try it out. Snapped a few pictures, got a little body damage. I think I might try building a flat bed in the next couple of months. Tired of smashing the bed up.

Nice. The guy that went with you last time?

Any shots of the sammy?

Yeah. Traded his mustang like 3 days later. Poor impulse control. Haha.

I've only got one. Spent about half of the day riding in a samurai based buggy.

He's probably got a few more I'll see if I can get. Its got some YJ springs, revolver style shackles in the front, 33x12.50's and some other stuff. Gets around well.

Eh, that's cool. I'm usually down to go whenever.

I was swapping my tires around. Going back to the at 31's until I can buy new 33's. 2 of the 4 mt's I bought vibrate really bad at highway speed.

Good to know, I'll be sure to let you know next short notice trip. Ever decide on what you were going to buy?

Cost wise I was looking at the goodyear mt-k. They seem to be good. Not sure how well they put up with our clay like mud, but interco is just way too pricey. $450 a tire is nuts. I had found some trxus for like $200 a tire online and now I can no longer find them.

I really want to go 34-35" but due to tire clearance and 10 bolts I will probably just stick with 33". Every tire recommends 8.5"+ wide rims. I have 8".

Lots of positive feedback from what I've read on other forums.

Don't have any 33" with 15" rims :( I already looked.

Thanks for the tip though :thumb:

I ended up selling a set of nice Centerline wheels that were 15's because I couldn't find tires easily for them anymore. Kind of a bummer but it seems to be the way of the future.

All I want is big aggressive tires on my factory rallye wheels.:doah:

/thead jack over.

Is it a thread jack if the creator of the thread started it? I'll keep my eyes open for tires in that size for you.

I do have input related to the discussion and the samurai that Zach bought. It's got Mickey Thompson MTZ's and they're fantastic. Seem to be affordable.

Haha I just felt bad derailing it further and further.

Sweet :thumb: if you find a good used set let me know.

Tires always recommend silly wide wheels that aren't necessary. I have run 37x12.50x16.5" tires on 6" wide wheels.

Lots of people have mounted 33x12.50x15's on stock rallys.

Buddy already selling the sammy?

I was poking around on CL killing time and saw one that looks really similar.
