2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
I don't have trouble starting my 73 in the winter. Monday morning was low single digits and it sat all weekend. Pumped the pedal twice it started after about 5 seconds of cranking. Let it idle for a couple minutes until it smooths out and away I go. Same thing this morning.
My autostart works great while i'm in my house on my 2000 Silverado :D:burnout::deal:

Picking up an extremely cheap GM Dana 60 next week. Not really sure what to do with it yet. It's a dually 60, that is missing on hub.

Thinking that maybe if I am having some spring spacing issues due to the BJ 60, that maybe I back pedal a little bit and throw this under it instead. But that would be a lot of extra work and money to fix brakes and steering. I don't know. Kind of sounds like a dumb idea now that I type it out. :haha::screwy:

You're right, that wouldn't be smart. Fix the problem you have, rather than creating a host of new ones...

Having a similar issue with mine. Shackles aren't leaning into the frame but can see that they do move over and rub on it. Thinking the shackle bushings are about done, looking at some better ones.

Yeah I need to measure my spring width and then buy some of those new Kevlar bushings.

I’ll be really curious to see how those work out for you, hopefully they take care of the Issues
If I could keep the springs off of the frame, I think I would be able to use the full range of motion from the Alcan springs. Then take advantage of the new Fox shocks.

Bah. You're not really living until you've slammed your spring plate into your frame hard enough to dent the frame rail. You need to get more air under those tires. :pimp:

Sold the Ford truck last night, so the 4x4 trans is headed up to get a rebuild on it tomorrow. Shop said it's about a week turn around, so I'll be swapping bushings and radiator on the black and orange truck to relieve the Warden from it's current DD duties to go under the knife. Then the 2wd trans comes out for a once over before going in the K5.

Lots of parts ready to get tossed on these next few months. Time to get busy!!!

So I stumbled across these today at work. Still 285/75r16's and on some 50% Cooper AT's. I can get them cheap, run the tread down, then mount my BFG's on these aluminum wheels.

Yah or nay?

I like the updated look, but not stupid looking like most of the newer stuff. Still gives it a nice offroad look to fool people about the 2wd trans.
