2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
Crawled under the truck last night to get an idea of what direction to head. Noticed the Shackles have started to actually contact the frame and have started cutting into it. Going to drop the rear of the springs and get some measurements tomorrow to see what is going on.

It was too dark to grab pictures, but I'll get some tonight.

Those are company supplies, I bet on it!

so true, my wife would be pissed if I brought home cheap ass sandpaper Kleenex.

Get that trans in Greg! Are you going to have your rear shaft shortened? Do you have a front shaft yet?

Since everything is from a factory 4x4 setup, I bought a rear shaft from a 4x4 truck. So it should just bolt in.

I have a few different front shafts to try. Not 100% what one yet. After the trans swap, I'll have to take it to an exhaust shop to get the crossover pipe moved to make room for the front shaft. Factory applications put the front shaft above the crossover. My SAS puts it directly in the path of the crossover :doah:

That's a problem with all ifs GM trucks when doing an axle conversion, gas or diesel. I had to do the same thing on my Yukon.

Less laughing and more swapping
Leaving tonight for a weekend trip. So no more real updates until next week.

I did type out a little bit of a schedule for the wife last night. I can share it here.

First goal, get the Jimmy running in the next week or so. Not driving, just running.
Then start the 4x4 swap on the diesel. That will in turn relieve the 2wd trans for the K5.
Once the diesel is back to drivable, I will focus on getting the k5 drivable also.

At that point all my projects will be in a usable state for the summer, and I can focus on smaller projects on each truck.

Lots of jumping around, but easier to manage and not have too many trucks down.
