2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
I see that's the new craze, 2 foot wide rims and 1 foot wide tires. Looks beyond ghetto IMO. Guess I'm old school, i like a lil sidewall bulge. Least if yah hit a curb it won't f-up ur rim.....

Yep, I'm on the same page. I like me some sidewall.

And no, no color matching all the stuff. I can't even color match the grille. It looks too cheesy for me.

Looks like a pan seal to me. The lower connector is the main TCU harness and the upper one is the rear speed sensor. A new sensor (I think) comes with a new silicone o-ring. Those silicone impregnated pan gaskets take a long time to wear out, but do eventually weep.

That's my guess.

Here's the problem. I have what used to be, a perfectly good 2wd trans in the truck. And a bad 4wd out of the truck that needs rebuilt. I don't have the monies yet to do the rebuild. Is it possible to swap shafts and tail housings and make my 2wd a 4wd? Or is that kind of counterproductive?

Should be able to do that..

Check spline length. Some 2wds have long enough splines to slide a t-case and have enough engagement. If not then might have to tear it down.....

Got a game plan together last night on the trans leak. I am going to clean it off, then daily it for a few days to see where the leak is coming from.

Depending on where/how bad it is, she may go under the knife for the TRANSplant. On that same note, I need to rebuild my Borg Warner t-case now too.

And even more related, I need to clean off my work bench.
