2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
How many years/miles are you planning on having this truck? It should take a number of years for that system to deteriorate.
Forever. I have no intentions of ever selling this. Even if a new tow rig is purchased, this would still hang around.
I wouldn't dick with it. In 5 years when it becomes an issue spend the couple hundred bucks and replace it. Or put in a duramax
If/when the 6.5 ever pops, I am very torn if I should replace with a very well built 6.5 or go for the Duramax swap. Either way it would stay with a GM power plant.

There is absolutely no reason to build a 6.5. You could put in a lbz with a tune and do more than a built 6.5 for less money.
Maybe.

I got connections on both. And the 6.5 is a fraction of the work. And I am pretty happy with it's current performance. I could only imagine with an A-team turbo and some other goodies.

It's an aluminized coating. It will rust eventually when it wears through. Better buy stainless then. I'm sure some aluminized pipe has a thinner coating than others.

I'll bet good money that it does. Our brine coats the undersides and sticks to everything. I'd be glad to go back to just salt again. Or our unpaved gravel roads that didn't get any form of ice treatment.

:sign29:

Problem solved! Just move somewhere it gets cold enough salt becomes ineffective.
We get mostly gravel put down on our roads.

Squirrel...

Just ordered in an overhead console from a Tahoe. Going to mount it up and throw a couple gauges where the rear ac controls would be.
