2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
What's crazy is I'm going to spend somewhere in the neighborhood of half that P400 price next yeah in just EGR delete, new turbo, downpipe, and tuning on my LBZ next year. Diesels are fun but you've gotta pay to play :deal:

Ok, so it's go time for some springs.

Sold this today for $250. Which open's up some money to buy the springs I need.

I also ordered these 2 things to get this back to reliable order.

I'm going to take @blazinzuk advise and go with a 2" lift spring. What's a good brand to go with?

Call off-road design. Choose their springs and let them set you up with what's right for your truck. Yes they are pricey! But after you waste the money on the wrong springs that are going to settle over time, and not perform like you need, then you will wish you spent the money on ORD's in the first place (like me!). I bought the Tuff Country EZ rides because they were cheaper and I thought they would last. They were supposed to be a good quality spring, but fall way short of being that.

With that being said, The 4" rough country springs I put on the suburban were fine, and seemed to last without setting, but were stiff and ultimately too tall. Didn't try to flex them much on a trail, so I don't know how they would have held up doing that. Hope this helps.

I know I need to go with ORD’s springs, but honestly I do not have the money. And as the truck sits I can’t use it. The springs are way to stiff. I would be almost $1,000 out the door for the custom springs, and that’s not in the cards any time soon.

PM me

And I still hate that plastic-barb heater hose coupling. If you're keeping this truck forever, throw the leaky thing away and use the rubber hose setup from a 6.2.

Betting on keywords: rough, dump truck, stiff, back hurts and can't see straight.
You do know that Rough Country and Tuff Country are different companies right?

I'm not looking for perfect, I'm looking for better.

These current springs are 4 flat leafs that do not move at all even with vehicle weight on them. They are an HD spring from a solid axle truck, the only word to use on them is DUMP TRUCK. I have superlift springs under my K5 that right massively better than these current ones in my diesel. I chose to spend extra money now so that I may use my truck. End of discussion. I respect your opinion Riley, but I am not new to aftermarket springs. I also know they will never touch what ORD can do with their custom springs, I just can't afford that right now but still very much need to use this truck.

Calm down, I was being silly.
