We know, I'm not sure why you needed to say that?

so keep posted for real tech posts.
So this thing decided it didn’t need 4th/OD today on the way back from church camp hauling the trailer full of camping gear. So guess it’s a good enough reason to start the 4x4 swap.
Need to fix the water pump on my Harley truck before I completely renter this immobile, but the swap will be happening directly after that. So keep posted for real tech posts.

Well that's good to know. My current setup on my 6.5 gets me in the 2,100rpm range while doing 65mph. Once I get a trans that has OD, and some 285's it should really bring the rpms to a good range at 75mph.
Haha I do have a 4L80, it just doesn't have a working OD![]()
Probably won't happen, I'm back to derail things.

I ended up finding a Short in my trailer break that was causing the TC to not lock up. I fixed that over a year ago.Oh. I wasn't directing the roadkill comment towards this truck, but perhaps I should have.
I thought this truck always was missing 4th gear?![]()

Yes actually, springy ones.
Haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I am working on the details with Bill at Alcan for my spring details (front/rear weight distribution, overall weight, intended use, ride height). Should be on order within a week or so.
Haha, I'm trying!!!

Waiting on my torque converter to show up for my new transmission. Then I have to swap output shafts on my t-case. Then it's ready for tear down.But...you already have springs. You're supposed to be working on the things you don't have.

But, I would like to have new springs in and drive it to enjoy it before I tear it down for the 4x4 swap.
It's usable. But my family doesn't like riding in it due to how rough it is. I have learned to overlook it and enjoy the truck, but that doesn't matter much when my family doesn't want to ride with me.Does it still drive enjoyably? I was thinking it was grounded until further notice.

It does however ride pretty good with a load of weight in the bed, but that's not how it should work lol.

It fixed itself lol. Not sure what happened, but a couple of days later it started shifting just fine. So I am assuming I am on borrowed time.I thought you said it lost 4th gear and was shifting weirdly. Maybe I read too much into that?
I'm not faulting the spring rate adjustment, just thinking that form follows function.![]()
