44" tall X 12" Wide XMLs. My build thread.

Bwahaha.

The blazer has 16.5s. I might be able to get some H1 tires 36-37" 16.5s preferably radials and just beadscrew them on. At least until I figure out what's getting chopped and thrashed. Waiting on some calls back on the 454 repair. Might be able to get it done for less $.

OK, the Blazer needs tires, and I'm not shelling out 800 big ones for 35s when I have a bunch of 11.00x16s already. I will 1 ton it eventually, and Xover (have parts) but for now, I need to get the tires on, even if it's only 3/4 ton. I'm gonna try to get them stuffed on tomorrow night for the race (not me racing) Saturday. Any tips for getting them to fit? They're about 38" tall and 11 inches wide. I've been around CK5 a while, so I've read the common threads about trimming, but haven't seen much with these tires. I'm thinking 0 rate the front forward (will it be OK without Xover?) and cut the liners and fenders as much as necessary. Got plasma :D

On 16x6.5 or 7 wheels, I bet you could clear with a 6" lift, maybe a little trimming up front. At the worst I think a 1" zero rate up front may be needed too. The back should clear on a narrow wheel. Lots of guys running 37X12.5's on a 6" with some trimming. This is what I'm facing, I don't want to cut the bed but I may lightly trim the front fenders. I'd just like to run 3-4" of lift and 35's. If you're going to save the body, you'll probably want some sliders, etc.

Take a look at my pics I am running 37s with 4". Make a template and transfer it to the body with a sharpie to ensure a uniform cut on all fenders. I also competely removed my liners but you run some mud so that might not be an option.

Ira, not so worried about mud (I'll eventually put some sort of liner in there) but where to mount the stuff that's on the liners. Need to look at that, haven't looked closely yet.

The windshield washer is mounted to the fender as is the battery tray. Having said that I need to relocate my battery tray and build a stonger one as it is warping the fender. As for the overflow container I bought an aftermarket one from Kragen with a bracket for like 12 bucks and mounted it to the core support where the air induction normally is connected. I will get pics of it when I get home.

Don't try to blame your "warped" fender on the battery tray........:haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

:haha: :haha: I meant to say inner fender. If I remove them I need to figure something out anyways. I am not too keen on having them in the people space as I still run a hard top as you know.

Here are the pics of what I did with the stuff on my inner fenders.

The battery tray as stated before is the factory tray I just unbolted the support leg and wedged it into the core support where the inner bolted up.

Went to the Superstition race today. Wheeled the wee out of it on dunes and followed jeeps up tight rock canyons, got some rock rash. Needs a little more trimming and armor. And a 60 front, Xover, ram. Works very well though. Something to be said for 38" tires and 2 lockers. Pulled a broken race car in out of the desert too. Good day. Pics later...Jeep lady took some, said she'd email to me.

Don't think I wanna ditch the liners entirely... afraid of rocks bouncing around in the engine compartment. Just needa stretch the WB a little and cut to fit.

Ah, much better. :D About 5-6 cans of Rustoleum Satin Black, a roll of masking tape, and a couple hours. Runs, what runs? Overspray? Where? :wink1: :D

Need input on this, please...

When I go 1 ton, I'll be getting more flex(droop) and maybe more lift...my brother uses a F*RD front 60, hi pinion helps with DL angles and keeps it off the rocks. Those of you running flexy (52") suspension with lo-pinions, how do you deal with front DL angles, etc? the chevy/dodge 1 ton is a bolt in, and I have 1 of each (DRW) but I'm wondering if and how much I'd be better off with the Furd axle, and if it would be worth the trouble. (Changing Tcase, etc)

Thanks.

what trans and case are you running? if you're running a 208 or a 241, swap in a 241 from an 88+ IFS truck, and you'll be golden with the Ford axle.
