4wheel discs, FOUND PERFECT MASTER CYLINDER!!

My brakes still suck after a new 1 ton master. I took out the ride height brake adjuster also. All my dads trucks with 14 bolts have insane rear brakes and mine don't do anything. They haven't even worn the hatching of the new rotors yet.

I've bleed them a lot also
Do you have 4 wheel discs? If so did you replace your proportioning valve to accomodate them?

Yeah I have 4 wheel disc.

I didn't do anything with the proportioning valve. I'll try by passing it and using the adjustable prop. valve.

I must have missed that part the first time reading through

Thanks

I never touched my proportioning valve after my brake swap. It doesn't affect the front brakes, just the back, and it wouldn't affect a squishy pedal anyway.

I got my porportioning valve from inline tubes for about $90. Just tell em you have a 4 wheel disc brake set-up and they'll know exactly what you are talking about. Good dudes there. Very helpful and answered all my questions.

Did you use rubber brake lines or the braided ones? I used rubber lines for the rear of mine and it caused a squishy pedal cuz they balooned when pressure was applied. Went to braided and problem went away

Still Awesome!

Just had to say again how much I love my brakes after putting this MS on my Blazer. I got in my dads bone stock 89' Jimmy to run to the store the other day and about freaked when I hit the brakes. I thought the brakes had gone out because the pedal went down alot farther than what I'm used to on my Blazer.

glad other people are having the same success with this master cylinder setup as i am 4wheel disc's :D

my setup is d60 up front, d70hd rear with caddy calipers, stock proportioning valve and the master cylinder i posted in my first post. im also using stainless steel brakelines up front.

Yeah, but get it from www.rockauto.com. Since they have an interactive online catalog I can't post straight to the MS, but just do a parts search for "102754". They have it new for $72 with a $25 core. Cheapest I've seen. I'll sing their praises all day long. I've gotten quite a few things from them for all my vehicles.

PS: You will have to swap your resevoir from your old MS over. These have a huge one that won't fit under the hood. Trust me it has to be easier to swap it before you bench bleed your MS. =)

ive got the huge reservoir on my mc that it came with and it just fits under the hood perfectly, might depend on year of truck, mines an '88 k5 with stock hood, with the felt junk removed from the underside of the hood.

True, the hood lines did fluctuate some I think. On my 84' it was an inch or more from clearing, I now have a nice square hole in the insulation above the MS from where I attempted to get all the clearance I could, but it was still far from enuff.

So before anyone puts this MC on your truck I suggest setting a 2x4 or something about 1.5 inches tall on top of your stock MS reservoir and see if it still clears the hood.

Someone said you could shime the powerbooster to get more clearance

Yeah you can shim the booster. But I already had a short reservoir there so it was the quick fix. It might have even been the right way to fix it. Tho the quick way and the right way are rarely the same.
