I have an '84 CUCV with a '93 12V Cummins, Getrag 5 speed (way better than people make it out to be!).
With 37" BFG' A/T's and 4.10's, 70 mph is ~2000RPM,
If i ran empty all the time, I might consider taller gears. I tow my buggy on a car trailer and I feel this setup is perfect, wouldn't change a thing.




tho a dash job is about eleventy7 on the list at this point.. behind a kennel, of ALL things... 
im working on making the big truck 4k rpm tach work off the p pump crank signal. Not finished. I want a tach to showoff that I have a gm diesel tach in my truck. no other reason.

I think I'm just gonna eventually do a slight revision of my K5 one.. full Autometer Pro Comp-y, Ryoken red trim-ringed, kinda deal..
but I need to do the rest of the interior/kennel first..Stewart Warner full Sweep diesel tach. Added a stud on the alternator, works good. If Had to it again would of got with the Hr meter.
