So I have a 82 6.2 with 92k and the original engine. Currently with the hx35 turbo it makes 210 HP and 475 ftlbs. I am happy with the power but the blow by is bad enough to start pushing oil past seals. I know a CDR will help but knowing that it was beat like a rented mule in a former life I think it may be time for a overhaul. The more I think about it the more I think I should inspect it well before any machine work and if it tests good just do a stock overhaul with felpro gaskets and new head bolts. No studs or girdles. Am I crazy? I just think if it is crack free now more than likely it will remain that way. I could go to (insert other diesel engine) but right now I have this one and a spare and during the overhaul I will be adding a nv4500 or a ranger(I have both).
