'72 Bluggy: Rocks/ 47s/ LoMax

Finally mounted the drivetrain and propane tanks. Working on finishing up the rear in the next couple of weeks then Starting the console/ shifters. Looks like I'll have clearance issues with one of he shift rails but will work it out when I get there.

And tires should be paid off in a couple of months but I'll leave that out until they're paid for :D

What hobart is that in the background? 180? 210? I have been telling myself I need to get a little welder here at the house so I don't have to take everything to work or my friend's houses but I haven't pulled the trigger (da du du! :)) on one yet. How do you like it?

Thanks. I just know I'm going to have trouble with one of the shift rails. It's a Hobart 175. I like it but don't have any experience with any other welding machines. I wish I could try a bigger machine with gas.

Yea put the whole thing for sale then wanted to part it. Now I'm looking to finish it :D

Sadly, this was a fairly predictable outcome....

This type of build should serve as a cautionary tale; trucks that DON'T drive for long periods of time usually end up like this.

The build plan was too aggressive, the truck became less and less practical (no top, no doors, propane, super-soft springs, etc)....and ultimately, with no budget and/or workshop space there was no realistic way this was EVER going to get finished.

Unfortunately, this project overspent on some big-ticket parts, but didn't have enough money in reserve for everything else that still needed to be done. And believe me, when you are looking at spending thousands of dollars on a truck that doesn't even run.... It is really hard to keep going, and to keep spending.

Sorry to hear the news, hopefully you'll recoup some of your money on the doubler, axles and tires/wheels.

Wanted to leave you all hanging but can't do it :haha: don't have the time to finish it so it's getting some revisions...and bigger tires :waytogo:
 
Rockwells....you bastage. :D. I want to go full 4 link and rocks so bad. But I've finally got the thing done and am finding it hard to tear it down again, and be without a rig again.
