2013.06.25 - UPDATE: FRONT CAMBER PLATES HAVE ARRIVED!!!

BAM! Cool new parts have arrived for the front axle...

I had two sets made... the thinner set is 1.75* to allow me to set up the axle for 0.0* overall camber. The second (thicker) set will allow me to set up the front end for -1.0* of camber (negative camber)....

One step closer..... :)

Which ever set you don't use, needs to be placed on the wall in the living room. Those are more like sculptures than parts.

My usual "West Coast Connection" hooked me up..... :waytogo:

Thank heavens for USPS flat rate boxes!

Way cool

Jeebus you're a perfectionist:haha::haha::haha:

Looks awesome Greg. I agree with everyone, the ones that don't make the cut are definitely art!:pimp:

If you have done by Blazer Bash this year, just send a few pictures on poster board. You would win the "most innovative vehicle", without even showing up.

New pics....

I built a large horseshoe-shaped bracket out of 3/8" flat plate...

And added some 3/8" side plates, and 1/4" heim brackets...

The new steering arm heigh allows for full left turns without hitting the PHB heim.

...and I mover the PHB mount a few inches right to make it as long as possible. Now that the steering arm clears, why not? :)

I'm going to grab some dinner, and put Charlie to bed in about an hour.... Then I'll head out again to see if I can finish this PS arm tonight.

That is looking bitchin dude.

I don't think there can be too much bracing going on with the steering stuff.

So brace it up. I am sure you have some planned

I was just noticing all the zerk fittings on your heims. I take my rig to the lube shop to have the zerks greased, and I always have them count how many they do so that I can confirm they got all of them. You're going to have those guys counting into the triple digits! :D

.....and a few more:

Pulled the bracket off the truck once I got the uppermost tab fitted.

Cranked up the welder to 22.0V and poured some heat into it! :waytogo:

Spent about an hour carefully grinding and fitting the factory 404 steering arm to the bottom of my new steering arm bracket. This will allow me to run a thick DOM sleeve and bolt to connect the lower part of my new bracketry in a true double-shear configuration, and should make everything a lot stronger.

I still need to do some additional gussets and plating but it's getting awfully close. Hopefully I'll be back in the shop again tonight.

Sure hope you didn't weld that new bracket to the factory steering arm or you'll never be able to remove the bracket in order to remove that portal box.
