The one Joe suggested for me is this one here:

It depends a little bit on the specific model of drillpress you've got, and what shaft diameters you need to match up with....

I spent the last 3 days reading. AWESOME man.

I was really really hoping i would be able to give you an idea about your brake setup.
What about the older chevy trucks that have the master cylinder under the truck coming off the pedal. Is that an option for your truck??

Thank you.... too kind.

I've seen those "framerail mounted" brake booster setups on some hotrod-type builds. It cleans up the firewall but I wonder how hard it would be to bleed the system of air when the MC is at the lowest point in the system? :dunno: Seems like it could be a real nightmare...

Also, I believe that most of those setups require the use of a brake pedal that mounts to the floor instead of hanging down from underneath the dash... I'd really like to avoid that unless there are truly no other options. Ultimately, I think the 90-degree mount under the dash will probably work out well based on the space I've got left.... the only challenge is coming up with a practical way to refill the MC with fluid without spilling it everywhere. :D

I have a pressure bleader. Nothing compares.

I did a frame mounted for the 34 chevy.mmaster cylinder goes on the fire wall. Easy to get to.

Only problem is under the truck it is vulnurable. Everything is tucked up and skid plated on Gregs truck not sure there would be enough room to stay above the frame. Might be but still even with a large thick skid it would make me nervous.

Of course I have pulled fist sized rocks from between my transfer case and the floor, no clue how it got there but it had to be broken to get it out.

So what's the deal here Greg, no updates in the last 2 1/2 months. :dunno:

Maybe you're waiting til next month when the truck is done to give us the final pics of the finished product. :haha:

Aww man I felt a tingle inside when I saw there was an update. Now I am sad. I should have known by the thread title not changing. :zombie4::zombie4:

Winter in the northeast will do that to ya...

Kurt is right.

I was very comfortable letting this thread slide down to Page 7 and disappear for a while....

No updates.

The truck is buried under a pile of other household stuff at the moment, and the garage thermostat is set just above the freezing point to keep any paints, solvents & adhesives from getting ruined. Yes, it's THAT cold.

Motivation has been zero for quite a number of weeks now, so I've been chipping away at small house-related projects instead. When the weather finally starts to improve, and daylight savings time begins (8 days from now, but who's counting! :D) I won't have to spend time on "honey dos".... I can just start blowing off the cobwebs, and getting back to this build.

Sorry for the false alarm gents, hopefully Scotty doesn't get lynched by an angry mob for bumping this thread! :haha:

No No, I think it's you who has to worry for keeping us all in the dark for so long now. You know we ALL like updates even if it's as little as there is no update. :D

At least you have a thermostat in the man space...my current digs is a toasty -17 F right now. Talk about a motivation killer.

Even so, I gotta drag the kids beemer inside for some repairs tomorrow. If I'm lucky my little propane heater might get it above freezing in there. Winter sucks. Next priority for me is a NG overhead furnace and 220 for the garage. :deal:
