thanks... while putting everything back together we realized that both rear yokes are toast and that they had already ate up the new ujoints we put in a couple years ago we have to run them as is for now but they'll be changed soon. and our tear down system sucked we cant find multiple little odd pieces now.... oh well. its coming together now fast though.

Friendly reminder while you are still at frame. ORD's Weld on steering box frame repair/extra strength panel. That is a notoriously week spot. I can still remember when I was a that stage in my build, feels good to be going back together.

what body mounts go where? the kit came with no instructions and its been apart for months so we have no idea which place they go. theres 2 of the big ones on the left and 2 of the little ones on the right. and 8 of the middle ones

If you are comparing that to the factory manual (or most of the threads here) it's going to confuse you.

Body mount #1 is the footwell one...counting to #5 at the rearmost gas tank area. The core support mounts don't have a number assigned.

The LMC website has a nice exploded diagram of the body mount positions and mounts themselves for reference.

If i can remember correctly, Only thing my energy suspension kit didn't have was the square washer for the radiator mounts, but I just replaced my carriage bolts with regular ones and since you have the radiator out it should be even easier.

I used some framing plate square washers on mine. They're used to hold down your sill/ green plate down on framed walls. Worked perfect and pretty much looked the same as the old ones.

I know ours didn't have any square washers when we got it. the rad. support we've had out before and there wasn't anything like that.

ill look at that exploded view on lmc to see what they are

Just makes it easier when it is all together to not have to get a wrench of some sort up in there under the radiator to undo the nut and remove the body mount at a future time. As the carriage bolt is held by the square washer in the confined space.

ours had bolts down through with nuts on bottom. I can make them washers at work though.. we have a nice hole press that can do square holes it was a biatch getting a socket down in that hole to hold them

Post 5 you can see the square washer with square hole. I didn't see the write up here, hence the link to the other forum.

considering that I had NO idea what size or how long of bolts we needed that link is GOBS of help I was looking to just set it on and start measuring

Cool! I didn't use it as I still had my bolts, but others on the thread seemed to like it. The couple bolts I did have to get longer as my body needed some shimming. And by some I mean a lot. Doing a frame off restore like you are doing would be awesome to do to get the body where it should be so shimming would be minimal.

It's setting on small blocks in place of the mounts till tomorrow...... but it's on My questionable wooden "A" frame worked like a dream we'll put the poly's in and tighten it down tomorrow, and hopefully start hooking things back up.
