Not being able to access this site from my home network (I have to use my phone, which is annoying), is driving me insane! Anyway, GWeakland - 12'. I did 12 so I could put in a lift, and because it makes a lot of things easier. If money were no object, I would go 16' so you could build a mezzanine and still be able to use the area under it. However, here in CA anything over 12' gets into all kinds of extra engineering stuff and really drives the cost up logarithmically.
Appreciate all of the cleaning discussion. I had to do a Tractor Supply run to get some more wheels and blasting material. While there I picked up another blasting gun (type you just put the hose in the bag) so I didn't have to refill the gun every 3 minutes. Worked great, for about a minute - then it.....stopped working. I don't have a water remover thing on on my air system, so that could be the problem. I am using everything I can to get it clean. Angle grinders, scrapers, flat head screwdrivers, wire brushes, power washer, blaster - anything and everything.
When I was doing all of my VA stuff to retire from the military I had a doctor, looking at an MRI of my back, say, "I am surprised you can walk." Now this is the same hospital which told me I had Stage IV cancer, and took 4 months to tell me I did not, so......Anyway, I have some pretty serious injuries in my past. Every now and then my back acts up.....usually when I overdo it with deadlifts. Last Friday I worked out with this dude who I have a bit of a competitive thing going with......we did (among other things) deadlifts. I felt it all day yesterday but kept telling myself 'man up cupcake.' Well about an hour after I got back from TSC I am bent over using that 7" angle grinder and bam - I thought I had been shot in the back. I dropped the angle grinder and went to the ground. Wife gave me some good muscle relaxers, I drank those down with 'a few' Silver Bullets, and with the help of wife and daughter got the frame back in the shop, blew everything down, and closed up for the weekend. It'll last a few days and I'll be fine. Tonight I am just going to do some easy stuff with the 4" angle grinder and see how I feel. Sucks getting old!
