any rubbing inside the wheelwells (inboard)?

Looks good Chris!

No, suprisingly no rubbage. The rears tuck very well. I came down HARD on the front driver side and caught the top of the fender on my tire.... not sure how since it is limited, but it still happened. Other than that and the occasional front inner fender rubbing i had no issues

so after this trip ive decided on a mini boat side. gonna cut up 3in from the "ridge" at the rocker. were it first dips in were the bottom of door goes. Gonna cut door flat accordingly.

Basically bottom of doors rusty, rockers rusty. Kill 3 birds with one stone.

Quick paint idea of what it will look like. Old pic so fenders not cut right but that is basic idea.

Gonna use 2x4x1/4 rec tubing. Its going to stick just a hair past door, then may run some tube off that, or may stick it out farther and no tube.... still unsure on that.

Gonna call my pops and get 2 64in long peices and grab my sawzall and a pack of cutoff wheels and go to town!

What say you guys?

looks good
just run the new steel from tip to tip?
Plan to do anything with the rear, near the bumper?

I am a huge fan of the boatside and keeping the doors. Very cool man, very cool should look nice and clean

? though won't that take the bottom of the rocker higher than the rocker boxes?

Or are you just going to run sheet metal up from the rocker boxes to connect the whole thing together. That would be pretty strong

Im gonna cut the whole thing out, then weld the tube in. Depending on how that extra bottom plate thing looks i will bend that up and add to it, connecting it to the bottom of the 2x4. So i will have a skid from the rockers, down the the frame.

I may use this time to just tie them straight to the frame as well. Still undecided on that. Was thinking a few pieces of 2x2. Ive seen others do it but not sure the stress it would cause only having the rockers hard mounted to frame and nothing else. Could always tie my cage in though

I've been following along for a while, just wanted to say , the truck is really looking good :waytogo:, after all who can argue with a full vert and big tires :D.

Have you ever read Colbys build on his 73 ? http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=221987&page=5 around post #50 or so, he did a similar mini boat side , rocker chop , and IIRC he had some good pics and details. Just thought I would mention this because of the rocker box design of the full verts being different then later K5's .
Keep up the good work :thumb:

Seriously, tho.
How the hell is it pouring rain on June 4th!?

Ugh....

Oh yea.
I have one of those TRE's that you used for the NC Crossover.
The one w/ the hole in it, that attaches the draglink to the Tierod.

Know anybody that needs one?
