Keeping the 700 trans? I know BMX was saying he wish he went 5.13 but he has the sm465

Yeah 700 for now. sm465/203/205 in the winter. What was his ratio? I dont care about freeway rpm since i have the trailer now.

If you don't care about the freeway go for it.
Watching k85 (4.88 and 37s?) he had more control.

700/241, 4.88 with "38"s
I could have easily gotten away with 5.13s and will more than likely go that route the more I like sticking with 38" tires. Since you're running 40s, I'd go at least 5.38. It would be a whole different truck![]()
Aren't the 5.38's suppose to be a fairly weak gear set?

with his his plan for a sm465 (+ doubler) he has a low enough 1st to get away with 5.13's no?

The pinion gear is very small.
It's hard to have as much control as a clutch pedal.

I used hand throttles with my carbureted rigs. With TBI, I've never really needed one.
