Got the tub up where I can pressure wash and sandblast today. It was my wife on the tractor, younger son backing the trailer and me making sure it went on straight. Not exactly poetry in motion but we are all still on speaking terms, so bonus!

Usually when I get out the pressure washer I try not to take off the paint. Not today

Yep, one downside of saltwater living. Once I get it blasted I'm taking it to the body shop to do the rust repair
Got the firewall done, interesting that I couldn't sandblast the factory's grease pen off. Wonder what numbers and letters mean

My dad's bronco was held together with painter's tape, license plates, roofing tar, and bondo.
I've gotten more than a few laughs tearing this thing apart over the last year. Its been alot of fun but every now and then it's like -seriously man!

That’s not from the factory...usually the big yellow or white marker has the VIN in big letters so the correct engine parts go on
Theres no 262 or bc in the vin so I guess its something else. I had read that guys on the assembly line would sometimes write numbers and letters to help track models and numbers but probably never know what it signifies, if anything
Those are probably factory markings, I have pictures somewhere of a '72 truck firewall with some like it, but they don't seem to have any correlation to the VIN either. And the truck was purchased new when I was a kid, I know the history of it. I wish that I knew how to decode those markings, for sure!
Some progress on getting the tub down to bare metal and primed. Still have the inside to do. Had to spend alot of time on the wire wheel as the bondo will not sandblast off and the wheel is faster than my da. Weather has shut me down for now

Did you get all the rust repair work done? or just blast it & paint?
Just down to bare metal and primer sprayed just to prevent surface rust while I get time to finish and drop it off at the body shop to actually do the rust repair Down here, you have to do a lot of work before you get to the point where you have a lot of work to do
