I think there for sure thinner. ill have to experiment with them. I just rebuilt my kingpins last week. Added a shim to increase the spring rate too in the king pin.

I picked up the kp rebuild from ord and the poly bushing to replace the spring.

What kind of dog is that?

He is a german wire hair pointer. when we were wheelin last time

Wow He`s bushy! My wife's parents had a few of them and one now...not that long of fur though. Cool!

Not Much new

Well I have been extremely busy with school and work. My work days are friday-monday killing any wheeling time with other friends. I forgot how time consuming homework was. I finally was able to take the jimmy out on an afternoon run. I installed new kp bearings and bushings from ORD and rotated the tires.
Pretty funny tree we saw

Here is the little bit of snow we found

Mt Lassen in the background

about 6800ft

Happy to be up here!:D

We couldnt figure out but this tree looks like it exploded

We got to test out the bumper and pulled some fallen trees off the trail

Then drove under one that wasn't fully broken off

Another over look coming down Soda ridge

Here is a panorama of the tree

I also picked up a viair compressor to wire up and use for oba instead of filling an air tank every outing.

It fits perfectly under the spare tire carrier

With the hilift in place

Will report more when it gets installed and should be wheeling more once school gets out.

how many amps is your alternator? I think I'm going to upgrade before the trip, mine is only a 60 amp.

We survived the Rubicon. This was the longest wheeling trip I have been on, it was a blast! We loved finally getting out of town for a few days and it was my first weekend off since February. The truck drove great the whole way there and back. It was about a 400 mile round trip. Amanda, my girlfriend kicked ass and spotted us all through the tricky sections.
Here we are at Uncle toms cabin friday with skunked and my friend nick

We went in through wentworth springs friday

Skunked, Me and Nick

Airing down and removing mud flaps

8psi worked killer!

We have a ton of pictures!

Here we are saturday just airing down and checking over our rigs

k85octane

wetoolowbingbangow

nick showing us his trail signs

Ellis creek bridge

We had to improvise and make a custom soft top for the trail to keep the sun off us

Out on the trail

Amanda doing her spotting duties like a badass

"that stuff is easy"-Amanda

Shots from somewhere around buck island lake

The truck crawled down and up anything with the double and the manual trans

On our way up the hill from buck to find a camping spot for saturday night, all the ones along the lake were filled up!

The camping set up

Nice Spot for a picture, we only made it 5.75 miles the first day!

I had to ensure everyone knew the Ck5ers were here

Sunday!
passing over Rubicon bridge

Edit:

Every time we heard that horn it made us laugh

Starting up Cadillac hill, and by this time I managed to follow nick through squeeze rock and the jimmy was a little wider than his stock looking toyota. We managed to get a little rubicon rock love going on.

These tires worked killer the whole weekend! The front passenger burped air once but we were able to air it back up to 8psi

At the top of Cadillac hill on observation point

The crew, It was an awesome time!

The Damage! Most of the dents and damage for us occurred between rubicon bridge and the start of Cadillac hill. I managed to scrape up and bust out my passenger tail lens going through squeeze rock then busted out my driver lens backing up into a rock. I also finished off my already cracked mirror weaving through the trees past Rubicon springs.
Drivers damage

The passenger got it pretty good, not too bad though

Amanda wasnt too pleased with me not following her spotting

its only sheet metal though :D

Driver side replaced

Passenger side looking better already!

IT was a great trip and hella fun to get together with a bunch of ck5 guys, I look forward to going out with them again and hopefully meeting more of us. Now it is time to tear into the jimmy and change the fluids

Hell yeah buddy thanks for posting the pics! I was super impressed by your truck and it gave me a ton of ideas. ill dump my pics in my build thread tonight. i have quite a few of you.
