If you use ammo cans I would recommend using some stick on sound deadening inside of them.
Good call I hadn't really thought about that. I have some of that foam for tool box drawers I might try gluing to the inside of the ammo cans to help with sound deadening

With the trails at Tuttle Creek, that bracket would be gone in 10 min.
See I somewhat drive the same. On Rubicon I scraped the passenger side right where the bracket would be. But I could always bend it back and the topper will most likely be off all summer with a Sierra Nevada banner in its placeWith the trails at Tuttle Creek, that bracket would be gone in 10 min.
Maybe I'll just rattle can them white to match the restIf you're going to powder coat them why not white so they blend in? Could just scuff and spray them too.
I don't think they look bad, function over fashion.
