check this vid out...he gets one tire to spin, applies a bit of brake and both wheels start turning again...

truetracs, front and rear...

another great video Ray...

cool vid. I can't see me getting all 4 wheels spinning and then getting out of the truck in my blazer. lol

RIght, what the hell, I'd be putting a winch cable on it or something...my luck it would walk across the hill and roll over:pimp:

Is there something/link/info to explain the differences of the many D70's out there?

Dave, here is a D70 link to Pirate.

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=522333

Best information I have found on a D70, There are a lot of variations.

The data presented there indicates the D70HD is a fair bit stronger than the 10.5" 14 bolt. The housing itself is said to be as strong as a D80, but with a somewhat weaker R&P.

Great link, I'll look for my BOM, and I didn't even think of looking at the casting for the number on the web.:doah:

I couldn't find a web marking, or a BOM number, I know its there, just under the rusty surface of the tube. For a rear axle is it facing the rear of the vehicle or the front? Pass side or Drivers?

....it does has 4" tubes slightly necked down towards the spindle end.

Its an HD.

check!

I'm just trying to find out more about the D70's in general, and looking for confirming numbers/characteristics on mine.

Did you have a 70HD in yours before the C&C 14?

Kinda like trying to figure out how different your 70 is from everybody elses. Got it.:thumb:

Nah, Single wheel 14 is all that has ever been under it.

went to visit the wheel polisher today as he had some question about which surface of each wheel would be to the outside....I was thinking Alcoa, but these are Welds.

After checking them out I figured the two wheels with the valve stem hole in the outer lip pointed toward the curb would be for the fronts, and the two wheels with the hole in the middle of the rim would be the rears...Am I seeing this right?
I was going by what is on the steel rims I have now. Also the indentation is for the center caps I assume, and those go in from the rear right?

Here are some shots of the wheels:

Good price!

The wheel I posted was after you asked what your new wheels from Curt for the Iron Maiden were modeled after.

PYO is just the factory code for the 2500hd wheels. Like yours on the 99.

Oh yeah, now I recall....I do really like that wheel style!

has anyone had extensive butt time in the stock buckets?

Wonder how they are for a long ride of say 300 mi, because that is about when I need to fill up my 2 saddle tanks....

I have lots of long rides in the stock buckets. Those are not stock bucket seats.

Driven across the country in a worn out set and between Northern Michigan and Kentucky three times. They aren't the best but they aren't bad if the padding is good. Even with the worn out set it wasn't horrible. I've had worse seats in newer vehicles as far as comfort goes.

If they're anything like the burb buckets (should be same) they are not bad at all. we did a mid wisconsin trip in mine last year and it was really comfortable. My old diesel 2wd burb with buckets was my favorite road trip vehicle to this day. Even my 6'9" 320# buddy liked that one.
