I have lots of long rides in the stock buckets. Those are not stock bucket seats.

I see that that picture is also from a 4x4 . . . . . . .

those were actually taken from another members truck...a 78 I believe...not my 76CC. Just a reference shot, but evidently not the right reference.

all depends on who wore in the ass groove...

Nice one!

I have a set of factory lowback buckets from my 77 that I was considering putting in the CC and building a console. That's why I was asking how they were for a long ride.

Yeah I realized that between the first and second post when I saw the shifter.

I really like the later stock buckets. I drove my K5 from California to Nebraska and had no complaints.

I'm sure it would be fine dave, but I love the adjustable lumbar on my tow rig. Really helps for those LONG drives.

I think the original buckets in my blazer are the comfiest dammed seats ive ever sat in :thumb:

Aside from the swampass-inducing vinyl, the lowback buckets in mine are super comfy. Feels like you're rolling around in a sweet beanbag chair:pimp:

I've been through 3 stock buckets in my burb before I parked it...the damn seatbacks (frame) kept breaking...:dunno::whistle:

I'm a gonna put a factory bench in it....:waytogo:

I like mine too Jess!

cool! I didn't know if there was huge difference between the highbacks and the lowbacks in these trucks.

I've had the bench seat set-up a few times in trucks and have thought them to be decently comfortable for a bench.

the bench in my crew cab is pretty comfy I thought, dont know what you thought of it. but it bounces like an air seat in a big rig when you hit a good bump (you know, like a pebble, or a small crack in the road:rolleyes:)

I grew up on square bodies, the all had bench seats. Always wanted buckets...

Grew up

Got buckets, now I want to go back to bench...:haha::haha:

The 89 Dad gave me had a bench seat, it was thin & not very comfy...

Love the stock bench for sliding out after a long day of driving. Not to bad in the comfort department either.

Idk why but the 88-92ish truck seats wear like iron. I had one with 200+ and my buddies is over 250+ and the fuzzies are just starting to wear off. I may put a set of them in as some point.

I don't mind the benches at all either.

But then again I have put quite a few miles on a burb buckets and like them too.

My grand cherokee seats in Horton don't look too out of place and are comfy for more stout fellows like you and me Dave.

I have ridden in a couple aftermarket seats ( flexsteel) and some of them are a little too soft not enough support.

I would like to find a newer set of seats from an 04 and put them in they are big comfy seats. The cloth ones not leather

I was also considering getting another set of the Stupid Duty seats like in the Maiden, but they would need a color change...Do I hear the SEM works very well for this?
Those are pass seats only, but not that that is a big deal, just the tilt back lever on the side would be on the inside of the drivers seat, which don't really matter because its a 4 CC...you get your own door.

find some big rig buckets. should be some online somewhere and who puts more miles on than truckers. never heard my dad complain about ANY of his seats. dual arm rests are a plus too

got a couple front caps from Issaam, took to cleaning them up

before:

...a small dent in one, and some marks from lug sockets I assume... I tried to hammer out the dent with a dolly and round face...cleaned up pretty good with a file, 120, 220, 360, 600...ready for some buffing compound and a polish now:

All the flexsteel seats I have sat in are pretty comfy Zim, might want to look at those.

I think those are the ones that you posted a picture of. They are not cheap though but from what I have seen pretty good quality.

Other than that I think I would be looking at some aftermarket seats, Recaro, Sparcos, Corbous etc. I know they don't really fit the old schoolness of Bart but a seat is IMHO the most important thing to the driver.

Thing is about aftermarket seats I don't want to just order some, I want to sit in them first.

So junkyard seats seem to be a better option cause you can sit in em.

I actually really like the stock buckets when they are in good shape, but it would be nice to have some extras like heat in them too.

I actually think seats is one of the things you should really put some serious thought and coin, if neccesary, into. I mean this thing is a distance hauler, good seats can make a drive so much better

Are those aluminum or stainless center caps? Looks like aluminum? Better than rusty steel, nice job.

got the front caps polished, and bought a couple rear caps off ebay...STILL waiting on the wheels though. Finally got BART out of the garage (had to make room for a party this weekend) and started a list of items to work on...not sure when I'll get to it, but I'll knock it off sometime....

again a before pic:

and after a little hammer/file/sanding/buffing/polishing the finished from caps and the new rears.
