Tab in window,
This 2 bolt cast piece is movable as it has slots where the bolts go through the casting...I'm thinking this don't really matter as Im timing the pump by plunger lift anyway?
I got to spend some time with Pop today
An early fathers day as I'm working next weekend
We messed with some parts assembly and timing the injection pump
I can't recall what pump number you have? What chart are you using?
It does seem high though. Sounds like you verified the hard parts. Crank to cam marks. And pin the cam gear. You installed the pump at the base timing 0?
Your adjustable gear should have a chart to what setting is required for each pump.
The pump tab is moveable it's probably still set to stock timing. When a pump is rebuilt or bench tested it can be moved to whatever you want your NEW base timing to be but that's all MOOT with an adjustable pump gear.
I believe the pump to be the stock 2174CPL
Yes the pump was installed at 0--TDC with the tab in the window and the adj gear set had no recommendations for diff pumps
It's not the CPL number you need. On the pump tab there's a long nber that ends in 911 or 913 or something like that. You match a lift chart to that number
The 913 pump is out of a 98 stick truck. It's the only one that has different plungers than the rest. It has a plunger notch to slightly retard injection timing at certain engine conditions.
