So a long while back I snagged a lot of 84 burb interior parts(blue if someone needs something). I put saddle covers on the bucket seats and am installing now. The 2 out board bracket holes line up nicely, the rear inboard sits about right on top of padding and carpet. The front inboard is the issue. I am thinking bend it parallel to floor and make spacer. Opinions

I’ve been wanting to do the same with my ‘76. How did you end up making a spacer?

I have an extra set of the inboard mounts from a late 70s truck. I'll send you a PM.

Pics? My plan is to steal the buckets from my daughters ‘91. She wants my bench. I haven’t looked at it yet so I’m wondering if hers has the mounts too or do they bolt directly to the floor.

They weld to the floor from the factory. You do not want to remove them from a good vehicle because you will end up with holes to patch. I can get pics before too long.

Ok so I bent the 1 tab, got a 2x4 in there as a temp spacer. Looks like I'll need @ 2" spacer once I cut carpt and padding to get to steel.

I know it’s been a few years but where did you get your seat covers? These are blue and my interior is saddle. I looked on LMC but they don’t have anything for those style of seats.

I did put seat cover on the 84 blue buckets, I got from rock auto best price at the time, and the exact same seat cover every other upholstery site was offering. iirc 6 day lead time so I am assuming they ordered them from mfg for me.

Are those the same brackets that would be needed to put buckets in a single cab pickup?

Not sure. I think the floors are abit different. So the brackets would be different.
If I were to go get seats now, those were procured 15ish yr ago, I would get 01 to 07 suburban Tahoe seats.

anything stopping anyone from making a set of ‘bolt-on’ brackets (requiring drilling in floor) to retro fit? Guess not much market, but would be awesome for the folks without access to welder.

I made the early weld in style for a bit, no real demand for them but a few people drilled extra holes and bolted them in rather than welding.
