Doesn't take much pressure to run a motor......

If she ain't squeakin or rattling....lay the hammer down

But if it is making noise, hit it extra hard :whistle::doah:

I agree with these guys it's plenty of pressure but it wouldn't hurt to go to a little thicker oil either.

Alright! Thanks guys.

Just being Paraniod I guess. I didn't want to screw it all up the first week.

glad you got the emblem already Dean, that actually took way less time than I expected!

what is your idle rpm? I think we had about 750 when the choke was open, and about 1500 when on high idle?
750rpm on a cold engine would be good to see above #20 w/ 5w30 in it, at 1500rpm cold should be up to 30#.... when fully warmed up, 15# at 750 is fine, but you should be up to 30 or so at 3000rpm when warmed up.

Barely Driven it Dave! But I did today for a few bit and it all worked great! :thumb:

Thanks again Buddy! I`ll update the performance of it when we get slow around here.

big blocks are known for having not very much oil pressure, 10 psi for every 1000 rpm is what I have heard is good

My old mans 77 454 idles 20ish pounds warm idle, 85000 miles and a flattened cam later....still runs great and solid oil pressure.

My advice.....let her buck :whistle::haha:

Thanks guys!

I`m not worried about it any more...seems to be just fine!

The Kids were out driving it tonight while we milked the cows. :thumb:

Got Dave's 454 emblem on today!
Made a little 16 gauge sheet metal plate to atatch it to the grill.
