Next time we go to the yard (which I'm overdue to do) I'll check on it....looking for any particulars on it? He turns stuff over to scrap as well, so I'm not sure if it will even be around.

I know, he was walking right onto the freshly welded plate as I was taking that pic....once he got into it, he couldn't get out....Zimm you have a dead bug on your skid plate.![]()

That plate looks hack to me John, not sure what design would be better though...I need to hang it off the front of the fuel tank skid plate to appease the requirement for placement of the pump in relation to the pickups, either there or off the frame, but then it would be more susceptible to trail and debris damage??Looks awesome !![]()
Even though a Scout car is basically a half track but with wheels on the back, quite a bit of the parts are different. My dads scout car is pretty rough so he needs quite a bit for it. I would cry if that half track got scrapped. They are sooo hard to find parts for. One of the most difficult WWII vehicles to restore (besides tanks and airplanes lol)Next time we go to the yard (which I'm overdue to do) I'll check on it....looking for any particulars on it? Ryan, Pop said the half track isn't in sight, they may have moved it, sold it, scrapped it????....there is a 5 ton crane type truck out there, but no half track to be seen.Even though a Scout car is basically a half track but with wheels on the back, quite a bit of the parts are different. yep!
If it don't work out, it will get an opportunity on the CC!
No, but thanks anyway. My dad gets a bunch of those magazines as well. And only buys stuff every now and then. Those parts are usually expensive!Ryan, Pop said the half track isn't in sight, they may have moved it, sold it, scrapped it????....there is a 5 ton crane type truck out there, but no half track to be seen.
He is a member of the military vehicle preservation assoc. He said there are listings and vendors who sell stuff for the half-tracks if you want he can get you some names and numbers or if your looking for particular parts he can watch the for sale ads in the mag....let me know if your interested in any of that.
Allow me to bring a different point of view. I bet you have already thought about it though.
With the pump mounted to the skid in the event that the skid gets bent ( I realize small with most of your wheeling) that may move the location of the pump to where it gets damaged. I think you have probably left enough room for that there but its a thought.
The other thing that you might possibly think about is branches. When wheeling out in the woods I have had tree branches get stuck in between the skid plate and the gas tank and hit some might weird things.
I realize these are both worse case scenarios but something to think about.
Can't wait to wheel with you again Dave looking very much forward to it

Don't have any online. I will have to scan the pics my dad took after he and my brother cut off the god awful plow mount that a previous owner welded onOK Ryan....got any pics of said Scout?
