The ramps look good!
Are they easily removable,so you can still haul more stock vehicles?
thanks Dean, and yes they will be bolted on to the steel of the frame so they don't slide when getting up on them.

i like the ramps dave
thx Jesse
I think they will work pretty good for the Maiden!

Check the shoes for contamination...might just need new shoes and turn the drums.
Although I haven't taken them apart to check for that....both axles have been replaced with new ones under warranty when I got it....unfortunately that is all they said they could do as in their opinion it was a brake problem covered by their axle supplier and replacing the axles was the limit of their warranty.....I bought the trailer and pretty much let it sit for a year before throwing the Iron Maiden on it and heading to BB11. That was really the first time I towed with it and had something on it where I really needed to use the brakes.

Ramps look good. I am going to steel that idea some day.
Feel free....I do think I will support the middle of them with a block of wood just to be sure they don't bend under the weight of the Maiden!

I have about 50$ into the ramp material and another 30 into the 1/4 x 1-1/4 lengths of steel welded to the bottom of each ramp.
Those will give me a bolt flange to attach to the trailer and also keep them from spreading from end to end.
Took me about 12 hrs total time, as lots of cutting with a cutoff wheel and trial fitting so I didn't come up short!

Thanks guys....didn't get anything checked off today, had some things to take care of with the new barn and went to see Jesse' to get his "power tank"....a 20 lb CO2 tank and hi flow valve to take on the trail w me....my "new" spare has a slight leak losing about 5 lbs overnight (35 to 30 lbs) won't do me much good if it drops too much to use it...39.5x16.5 TSL's, so now I've finally got a real ready to bolt on spare!

Dave check the ground to the trailer frame if those drums/shoes don't look funny

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Thanks thats a good tip....grounds can raise hell w things!
Worked on getting the doors on it today....forgot that the sliders would interfere w the bottoms of the doors so I sliced them off for clearance.
Yep it's hack for now...the doors a chinawanese models and have a few dents and some pitted rust areas so I'm just going to DA em wash em with some Dawn treat the rust areas w some convertor and hit em w the green zinc chromate.....
that replacement zinc phosphate sucks....don't cover well at all!
If/when I get around to putting some paint on this truck it'll get more love!
For now I just gotta get it worthy for camping!

Agreed Dean...fully dressed!
It sure has some hack body work on it, but rather than let it sit waiting for the opportunity to do it right, it's funnernhell being able to enjoy the Maiden as is!
One of these days it'll actually get some paint on it!

Yup just like I said the other day Dave, I'd rather be out using it then waiting on the time to do a proper paint job. Make sure you take lots of pictures.

As long as it's Ryoken Green, I think we all approve
OF COURSE! not sure if the Green Zinc Chromate is available yet, it does a great job for rattle can stuff, the Green Zinc Phosphate sucks balls....doesn't cover no where near as good as the Chromate does.

Hey at least I pulled all the stuff out of the door shells!
Ordered new window weatherstrip kits for them too, the old stuff came out in pieces....MAW!

Took out the rear seats and mounting plates today to make room for sleeping and more storage areas.
First up was mounting my new to me CO2 cylinder.
I made a circular mounting ring for the bottom and for now will use a tie down strap to hold it firmly wedged against the cage.
I really need a top ring that is just a bit smaller than the cylinder to be able to clamp it in place.
I also made up a hose to take along.
It fits nicely behind the pass seat.

Next up was making a sleeping area.
Because I raised the back of the floor 2" to rebuild the rotted out back of the body and gain more fuel volume, I had to bring up the floor for level sleeping with some 2x4's and a sheet of OSB.
Floor area is 6' x 43" and should sleep comfortably with my camper matress and padding/sleeping bags.
Also left a trap door to access the fuel cell.

So cool.

You should strap the door behind the maiden and drag it through your back field.

Otherwise it is going to stick out really bad being all clean and shiny.

:D
