Dave go to tractor supply or welding supply store and pick up a new sight glass front and rear. That will help the auto darkening sensor work better, and give you better sight. Plus its like 2 bucks a piece.

damnthat exhaust looks nice.what is the paint that you used on it?made those used mufflers look real good man.i wasnt sure how you were going to have the pipe hard mounted and then flex with the engine.i see how its done with the flex pipe.pretty sweet.i was hoping it wasnt the cheap crinkle steel flex pipe ive used in the past.they lasted about 6 months, then rotted through.

Seriously Dave treat yourself to a nicer welding helmet.

Also your outside lense and inside is very dirty, that can make all the difference in the world

My helmet is a Jackson Nexgen http://store.weldingdepot.com/cgi/weldingdepot/3013595.html

Expensive but you will not regret it for one second, fully bitchen. Keep the lenses fresh and you will never ever loose a bead. Big huge lense, uses standard lenses (the plastic ones on the inside and outside of the helmet.

I have needed to change batterys in it twice. Batterys are cheap. Plus you can cram your head into places with it pretty good, it flexes a bit.

Hell Dave I think you should buy yourself a nice Valentines day present :D this would be a nice one

Oh yeah the exhuast looks fully awesome. :waytogo:

Alot of welding supply stores will let you try the helmet out before you buy it too.

Chuli...this is it....holding up great on the engine, and its been heat cycled a few times, had it laying around so the pipes got it too.

OK guys, I'm on the hunt for a new helmet then....keep it reasonable but what would you buy if you were getting a new one? Just remember I'm only a hobbyist hack welder:doah:

I need to make a heat shield of some kind Max...the underbody has those shields in the stock location for the mufflers, and I'll maybe make something for the pipes where they come up through the frame (at some point)

Yeah, I got them locally, maybe tractor supply or something, I can't remember right now, but I don't think it'll be hard for you to find it. It flows on really smooth and covers well for a spraybomb.

I heard Jess so no big deal :thumb:
Tha's good Jess :thumb:.
Hey I'm diggin your truck build too, watching with interest for sure.

that looks like it will work Eric, dam...$6 ea x 16...thats about a Ben Franklin right there.

After only having one support for the rear shocks, a double shear just seemed to be better suited for the pounding the dunes would give it, so a 2nd upper mounting bar was added:

Eric, here are those rear shock #'s you was wondering about...anyone recognize these?

I got my custom brake lines from G&J aircraft today. took them exactly one week to make em and get them to me from CA. Extremely pleased with the quality. A couple members recommended them, and I'm glad I went with them. I don't think I could have got them any cheaper, and they are exactly what I need as I'm using different threads on front -3AN, than the back 3/8-24, and 1/4" lines throughout.

So the 5 custom lines, the anchor tab, the clip, the copper washers, all for 127 to my door.

Here's all my brake line parts to begin the bending of tube.

Skyjacker nitros Dave. The 8000s not the 7s They are pretty good shocks

Other stuff looks so nice and shiny too, make sure all the brakelines are properly secured with tabs (something I still haven't done)

edit
quick search comes up with about 12.75" for travel that about right?

hmmmm, still waiting for this to catchup from the web problems earlier today, or did we lose some posts?.
