yeah, ballin Adam.

made a great score today. Got that 1/4 panel, pass side w/ inner panel and outer wheelwell, GMPD still in brown primer, I'll have to see if I can find a date on this thing.
Also got a set of new in the wrapper GM wheel opening moldings, some good used side moldings like these:

moldings.jpg

and some new ones in GM wrapper,
a good dashpad, a couple small cracks but nothing major,
a good windshield
gauge cluster w/ tach, and underdash wiring harness
a lower filler panel attachment bracket (something I was missing)

The guy that has all this stuff is clearing it out, because his dad died.

here's the heartbreaker for me....a basket case 65 Vette vert. has a bad frame, body is rough, but it would make for a good starting point for a drag car.

I haven't got a comp compatible at home to get the internet yet, but was able to upload some pics onto a memory stick, then bring em to work and upload them here....slick stuff this technology.

Here's some pics of the parts that went to the stripper, before and after cleaned and primer'd.

These pieces cost 165$ to have em chemically stripped.

Here's the score from a local craigslist:

here's a couple pieces I got from Sherman/Assoc. catalog price and free shipping to a local parts recycler= good deal for me.
Two new (chinawanese) inner fenders, and two new plastic headlight trim.

Nice. You run across any rust free Chevy pickup tailgates of our era lemme know. Having a tough time finding one worth the money.
Even better if the hardware and stuff is included.

Nice gauge cluster. I'm jealous of that tach. That's how they all should have been made.

I'll keep an ear up for one AJ...I got mine for $75, and I give this guy $5 for the hardware hinges and brackets to bolt to the box.
I looked over his barn pretty good, he has a ton of Pontiac stuff, and Chevy heads/blocks/manifolds too. I think one of those 4 w/o moldings isn't a GM truck though...I may have to go back.

Trea, I do have two of them, I will use one, and if your up for the other I'll post pics of it if your interested.

Nice score Dave!
You not gonna use those trim pieces on the Wheeler are you?
And its`s gotta be killing you to leave the vette over there, you should go back for it... or is it not worth it?

The trim pieces I grabbed for a possible future CC project, and the side moldings were just to good to let go to scrap, and he was giving them away.

The Vette really is a mess, an aftermarket front end, then someone decides to cut it off, so they literally cut the body in half??? Why not just cut the front end off from the bonding strips....evidently whoever did it, didn't have much experience with Vette construction....what a shame. It would take a lot to make it anything of it, but its still a midyear, those things are worth 5K in a heap, which this one is.

fock it.... tube frame the sumbitch.. I'd love to build a mid year street brawler like that... thing is, I'm really not a convertible fan... at all.... and it's gotta be streetable.. not a fan of drag only cars, well, for me anyway....

Um doesnt the top come off your k5 ryoken:whistle: Nice parts grab dave:waytogo:

it's a 1/2 cab tough guy.... :haha:

just a statement in general about cars, a first gen K5 would be different... people get gaga over ragtops, imo it usually takes away from the lines of the car...

nice score on those parts.too bad the vette is mostly unusable.maybe if they sell it to ya at a good price itd be worth messin with and reselling at a later date.you kinda got your hands full as is though.

Just let me know. I can find a way to get it down here, even if it has to sit until the folks come down in Novemberish.

Even good hardware would be awesome. Everything I find down here is rusty junk or overpriced.

I'm resisting the urge to start becoming a parts horder. I already have a small pile under one of my benches that is full of random parts and stuff left over from Big Ugly and The Blazer.

However after the water neck incident of '09 I can't entirely help it...

I agree Paul, only a few converts I like, generally I like a coupe FTW.

I did look it over good, the frame is shot, the fiberglass is ok, it has the aftermarket frontend that doesnt have the headlight doors in it, and the fenders are flared (my 64 had the flares too, and they aren't that hard to replace) so tubing it, and some glass replacement would be a great way to build a drag car out of it, something I've wanted to do, but don't want to cut mine up to do it, it just don't make sense money wise. However if a basket came along (like this one) a few grand to get the body structure is worth it IMO. A removable hardtop (which this car has, and is worth up to a couple grand by itself) is pretty bad ass looking, but a rag just looks like something is missing.
And your right, I've got more than I can handle right now, let alone thinking of something else.

I'll keep an eye on stuff around here AJ, I found my solid tailgate on C/L, so stuff is out there, just a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

Forget about the junk vette, you got enough cool stuff going on to spend your money on.:waytogo:

? Did the tack you got come with the wiring harness for it, the one I got did, it has a small resister type of deal that bolts to the firewall before it goes to the dizzy. Mine works good, just wondering if you need it.

I pulled the gauge cluster and the wiring harness, no resistor in line....I don't know dick about that, if it is needed or not?
I believe the gauge cluster I pulled was not original to the truck I pulled it from.

That was going to be my next question. What do you all need to make a gauge cluster like that work properly? More specifically a 88' w/ tbi.:D

I know the tach cluster has the fuel gauge in the lower left, so the laminated circuit on the back is different. I think the wiring harness is different too, as the connections for the tach are a large plug into the tach. It doesn't run off the laminated circuit on the back.

Yeah, I figured it wasn't any easy swap. Just hoped the tach had a seperate plug and everything else would plug right in.:dunno: I sure wish the tach was in the place of that stupid big fuel gauge. Maybe I'll search to see what all has to be done.

Rene has one in his injected blazer,i dont think it is hard to do.

Even if you don't have the wiring for it I think you could make your own easy enough... I just don`t know if you nead the resister thing or not.
