Looks like y'all should have a good time this weekend. I see the beer drinking has started.
Nice progress on the the blazer it's looking good too.

We got a ride in today, wedding tonight, headed to the UP on Monday!

I also checked the shroud setup, and I think I'll try to modify the one idler pulley to provide more clearance, then modify the shroud if needed.

The fans in my truck are from a aurora, they are much lower profile than the fan pictured and cool my truck easily. Dual fans

we got home from da UP Thurs night, had a great time up there. The family is all leaving today, so back to the shop for a thrash on the Maiden....

The bikes lined up ready for the Monday ride to the UP, we did about 1200 miles in the 4 days, and went across the Mackinac Bridge to the Soo Locks to see some freighters go through, caught 2 1000'ers while we were there. Went to the Taquamenon falls area, and to the Whitefish point shipwreck museum....had a hoot of a good time, and made some good family memories with the cousins/brothers/sister. Good times.

got the windstar fans with an acceptable gap now, we moved the interfering electric fan motor in toward the radiator about 1/2", and moved the idler pulley in towards the engine about 1/4" and it allows 1/4" of clearance now between the idler pulley and the fan motor....the electrical connector is a little closer than that, so I'll see how it is under operating conditions.

Got a good start on the wiring. Main cables run back to front, starter wired, remote solenoid wired, starter/ignition switch wired, and the junction block as well. More tomorrow.
Got the rest of the frame to bodycage links mounted up, and all are bolted in place now, got the exhaust system hooked up, and new driveshafts arrived yesterday.
The front is a .095 wall 1410 piece, and the rear is a .230 wall 1410 piece...all pieces supplied by the builder for about $750.

Howdiy, you got some pics of that setup, and any mods needed?
What exactly is your acc drive setup, and is it BB or SB?
if I'm not happy with this, I may look for alternatives quickly.

I ordered the high pressure hose for the hydroboost system today, and that will complete that system. I used my 99-2500 as a model to route and figure out what lines went where....The 99 line looks like it will work fine on the K5 as well.
I should have the transmission lines run tomorrow, as well as finish up some other items on the list, and moving on to a few more.
Also put in the rear bed side panels today....fills up the big ugly holes in the sides, and should keep the fumes and dust out of the pass compartment.

thanks Max, I'm on it everyday. Its a lot of little things going on now also, that need to be done, but don't really see much of....However today I did get alot of those little things done....running trans cooler lines, finished off the PS/Hydroboost setup, finished up the safari top (at least for now), finished off the serp belt setup problem....I swapped positions of the idler pulley that is low on the right side, and got a different length belt and now have a bunch of room around that right side electric fan motor. It is a long stretch between the crank and the A/C replacement pulley, but it's straight and being a serp I think it'll be good, as I'm going to redline at 5500.

some pic whoring over the last couple days:

the serp setup as I will run it:

The inner fender trim panels...just a piece of OSB backer with a thin sheet of .022 steel over them...my Pop's work right there....

The hydroboost/PS lines run:

trans lines/ cooler lines/ heater core lines:

These lines will get some heat wrap protection added:

And the safari top...this will get more work in the future, like a refinish of the outside, adding some captured nuts inside for mounting, and boxing up the cut open ends, but it should work great for now.

A lot of plumbing and stuff, looks nice. I want to see it drive, when are you starting it up for the "maiden" voyage?

Love the top:bow: the maidens looking great man. Gonna be wheeling it soon it looks like:waytogo: Hows that batt box mounted? Mine was mouted with the plastic tabs the strap goes through when I rolled my car. the strap broke and one of the tabs too:dunno: Just a heads up. also if you bolt through the bottom of them with washers they will rot and grow crap,,,, also a heads up:thumb:

It should be started this weekend I hope....kinda relying on a friend to get the wiring done for me, and we work opposite shifts...

The battery box is mounted with bolts going through a 1/8" steel plate on the bottom of the box...that holds the box to the floor, there is a strap around the bottom of the plate, and holding the battery to the plate, then a strap around the whole box holding the top onto the box. I think I'm going to check out some other options for holding the battery to the plate though.

Like that top. How'd you cut it?

Now that I'm getting a rear roll bar I'm considering finding someone's old top and cutting it like yours.

I cut it with a reciprocating saw, not the best choice. Hard to keep a consistent angle and depth even with a line to follow. Actually I was thinking a circular saw would have worked better to keep a consistent angle along the line....BUT even that would be somewhat of a challenge because of the curve of the top. After cutting, I tuned it up with a 4.5" angle grinder....yeah I guess you might know what kind of itching that will lead to.
I used a painters headcovering, and long sleeves while doing the grinding....it helps a lot, oh and for sure at minimum a good dust/mist respirator.

Yeah, I need to get some sort of breathing protection. Painter's masks aren't enough anymore.

Sure can't be to careful with your lungs AJ....

Today I moved the PS cooler a little lower in the grill as it was higher than the remote reservoir....so burnt an hour making new mounting tabs welded to the cooler frame in front of the radiator. Had to be done!
Also made up a mount for the radiator recovery bottle, as I'm trying to keep everything off the inner fender area to ease fender removal for maintenance. Got the fluids all filled in the engine/trans for startup. Also worked on getting the triple sticks and trans shifters mounted and hooked up.

I've learned my lesson thanks but regrettably late due to my ears. I don't hear so well anymore.
