Hey but now you have a strong dependable and fun rig for that price. You could spend more than double that on a new truck and still not have the beef and capabilities this things got. So truly it's not an outrageous price IMO for a new truck (aside from the body).

I'd say none of it's a waste of money, you just saved another from the junkyard and made it better than it's been in it's whole existence.

Hobbies and passions cost money, plain n simple. But they make us happy and give value and meaning to the slaving away at work we do all day all the time. With outthe fun stuff to do and play with it would be too hard to handle and we'd all be nuts. I waste more money on trucks than anyone I know, And dont have a super capable one yet. But I have fun with them for the short time I usually have them:rolleyes:. Even if all I do is work on them. It's worth it and then some as long as you still pay the bills and dont starve to death:thumb:

Hey Dave

Love this thread! I get to thinking idly about doing things to my burb, then I start thinking about the details...like putting in a cage and cutting off the top...I started thinking how to connect it and mount it to the frame...voila! I check your thread and there it is!

This thing covers just about everything I think about doing...Great job, and thanks to everyone who helped! Love it!:thumb::thumb::thumb:

Ray, I;m glad its helping a few people out, that is a great reason for posting up this build....I've certainly made my share of mistakes, had misfortunes happen, and some triumphs too. Another big asset I've found is it is a nice reference manual for myself!

right on Rick!

Kert sent me a crappy cell pic:bow: of the beadlocks he's making up for me.... recognize the pattern?

Maidenwheel.jpg

Are they supposed to be similar to your old wheels? I can see the resemblance

16.5's yes...Kert said hes' got some finishing to do on them, and move the valve stem location....I plan on picking them up from him in March, and bring them home for powder coating.

Nice wheels Dave, don't powder coat em, Wheels get dinged up pretty good wheeling, paint em with a good quality paint that way they are easier to touch up

Damm! I like those, a lot. Save that pattern Kert. How much do they weigh? Makes me wish I never sold my stock H1s. Lookin sexy there Zim!!!!

Damn Kert, thats a killer pic, way better than the altered cell pic.

I might do that too, gotta check color choices, but I've used some spray bomb paint from Moeller that holds up pretty good on wheels...

He went ahead and had me paint them pink today.
choice! we be pimpin' :pimp:

I think Kert nailed these just like I wanted....I tried in a feeble way to express what I wanted, and with a couple preliminary patterns he got to where I wanted them to be...gotta say I couldn't be happier with how they look...Rugged and kickass. Kinda look like a food processor don't they?
So anyone recognize that pattern? Come on you guys gotta know....right?

Kert did you forget to add the purple accents on the rock rings?

Get back to the shop :D
