I don't hate manual trannys over all, in fact now that I have a much stronger rear in the Vette I'd like to get back into an OD high perf Trans in that someday (without cutting the floor up)
I don't see what the big deal is really, I drove stick Dodges on the farm I worked at starting at 12, and my first 3 cars and 3 trucks were all manuals, it's something you get used to doing but it ain't rocket science. When I autocrossed and drag raced the Vette Early on it was still the Muncie wide ratio, and I broke a couple Trans and spit a rear ujoint doing hole shots, not to mention clutches. so when I decided to do more drag racing w it, I went T400. Haven't broken the driveline since in over 200 passes. Yes it did have all new joints in it by this time, but a big improvement was getting rid of the stock 4 sp shifter as well.
I just don't think a manual Trans for rocks, sand or mud is the way to go....
If I get tired of the slushbox doing the shifting I can jump in the Jeepster and be disappointed with the T86 3 sp or get on the JD and grind a pound or two or get on the HD and be comfortable in the familiar choreograph of synchronizing shifts (much of the time not using the clutch after 1st gear for up shifts)
I will say a big advantage in manuals is the ability to push start it.
Besides its easier to text and drive without having to be bothered shifting.

So I never seen for sure in here,, did it crack the case again, or just kill internals this time?
