Finally got the Maiden on the lift to check the trans out.
Dropped the pan to find a lot of burn clutch residue, but no hard parts in the pan. So the plan is to take it to my rebuilder and find out exactly what went wrong and go from there with stronger parts.
After talking with @Greg Ducato we decided to go with a GM converter that he custom built out of a very rare factory high stall converter as used in high HP muscle cars like W-30 Olds, LS6 Chevelle etc. It has 6 mounting pads instead of the normal 3 pads. Thanks again Greg!
Well see where this goes In the next couple days.

So what's the stall speed?
My last trans did the same thing, has over 1000 miles on clutch replacement.
I'm pretty sure you just cursed him to a life of failing tranny's.
I liked it only cause I wish it was a dislike button.
dunefest 10 days away....got a broken trans, a questionable spare on the bench, rebuilder is crazy busy and don't know if he can get the broken one done in time... @sweetk30 do you recall the condition of this trans I got from you a couple years ago??? I need a whole bunch of 20 year old ambition right about now!

just texted my buddy I got it from . . . it worked good but had a small noise . that's his words . take it for what it is .

Put it in, that way your built trans will be done on time.
It only needs to last the weekend...
