'78 K10 Build

Look for a hidaway gooseneck ball plate, Pick up an old gooseneck coupler, cut coupler to hieght and desired angle, weld axle flange onto coupler. When not in use, remove coupler from hitchball and fold the ball away. Full hauling retored.

I realy like you build and truck. It reminds me of my 76. I don't know if you got your tire carrier figured out or not, but I used an old 8 lug axle shaft, 3/8 inch plate and some 1" angle. I wanted my tire to be at an angle like a throphy truck, so I cut the axle shaft to the height I wanted with about 70* angle cut, welded it to the 3/8 plate, added 4 braces made out of the 1" angle iron. Then bolted the plate down to 2 bed crossmembers. I bolted the tire down with 8 lug nuts on the correct studs for my truck. That way you always have extra lug nuts and wheel studs if you need them.

I like this idea too. You wouldn't happen to have a picture of your setup would you?

Yes and no, I have some on a hard drive, but we just bought a new house and 95% of my junk is still packed up. Soon as I get my junk unpacked, I'll post some pics.

OP, Sorry about the hijack.

Stuck to my glove box at the moment. Didn't want someone to steal it when it was sitting outside my house. I still put it on the outside sometimes when I drive it.

Damn proportioning valve started leaking... And right before im going to take it on a roadtrip... How much of a bitch is it to find and replace one of these? I tried to tighten where it looked to be leaking and all it wanted to do is round off the edge, so I stopped.

You can kinda see the drips on the bottom here.

Yeah, spray it with penetrating fluid, and then work it back and forth with a LINE WRENCH.

Or just do like every old grain truck in the country and throw a gallon jug of brake fluid behind the drivers seat......

Yeah it looks like it. Its the wettest by the right hand line. I don't have a line wrench. I suppose I can go buy one though.

hahaha already have one there :haha:

Oh and I got my CB mounted. Mounting the antenna today. Pics to follow later on.

It's not the line. It's on the back side of the small brass piece to the right. There's some kind of hole on the back of it and the fluid comes out everytime you hit the pedal.
