Drove it to the barn in the pics from where it was sitting by dragging the ass end in 4LO. If I barely touch the throttle it kind of missfires but anything else and it runs great. What could that be?

Probably going to start tearing into it this week, take off everything thats good and scrap it.

The timing could be slightly off too. I say clean the carb up and get some good gas in there. Looks like a good starting point. That's the same interior color as my '85. What were they thinking back then?

If it's only at a very light off idle, my vote is egr valve. I would plug the vacuum line to it and see. My burb and several others with tbi had that problem. It was most apparentbbacking out of the driveway in the morning.

I was going to just remove all the smog stuff and put headers on it since I don't have to worry about it in NE. Is that going to make it run like crap? I did on the Camaro and it was fine.

This green one is a TBI donor truck for the K10. Then its getting scrapped.

Unless you are going to take it to The Shop, and have them tune it for you, I would just leave it all on there. They run just fine with it.

I was planning on putting my serp belt setup on the TBI at the same time. I'd have to figure out how the hell to run that smog pump on that too. Was also just going to bolt my current exhaust up to the TBI. Seems like a lot of extra work to keep that stuff if it will run fine without it. Im pretty sure Nick's doesn't have any of it and his runs great.

That would be great. Thanks. The engine will probably run better without the air pump. The bearing on the pulley is probably only days away from seizing up anyway.

I would hardly call a missing rocker rust free. Also what do you think that ****ty green paint job is covering?

Fk that we are deleting smog, egr and ac unless you really wanna set the ac up. Would be kinda "cool"

All I have is stand alone injectors, 02 sensor after my y pipe, and all my sensors. Runs pretty decent for all I'm concerd. Thankfully the 383 is going back in soon tho. Blueprint FTMFW

My bro doesn't even have O2 sensors hooked up on his 88 TBI and he says his still runs good. That's what I love about TBI, they just keep chuggin along :waytogo:.

I would like to delete my smog too, but I need it for emissions where I am. I freaking hate emissions, but I still like to drive mine on the road. Maybe if mine becomes a trailer queen I will delete it. But A/C I will delete for sure

Mines was not hardly drivable with no O2 sensor

That's what I was thinking lol, and yeah that paint hides a lot of surface rust. Let me see if I can find the google maps pic of it before the paint.
