'78 K10 Build

So what brand steering stabilizer is that? Does it seem to take away some of the bumpsteer? I put an expensive Moog stabilizer on mine a while back, but I still get some bumpsteer.

This one is the expensive Moog one. Super tral boss or something like that haha. Bumpsteer?

Okay. The Moog I got looked just like the stock one. It was black. I think it was like $50 or $70 or something like that. The tube is a smaller diameter than the one you have.

Yeah this thing is huge. My PS pump isn't a fan of it.

PUMP MODS!

Basically just talking about the dual pulley and long neck for more fluid?

With 2 belts and those mods mine was OK with no hydra until the 40s unless in a tight spot.

I need to get a balancer so I can put my other PS pulley on to run dual belts. Those mod seem pretty easy. Did you do all of them at the same time?

I did the pump mod. In my build thread I took some pics of me doing it too. I even took the pump out of the truck (some people can do it with it still in the truck, but I couldn't get access to the flow piston on the back with in still on the truck) and I think it only took me about 30 min to do, including taking the pump out and putting it back in. I think it's a worthwhile mod to do even if you don't have hydro assist (yet!! :D)

A smaller pulley will pump more fluid as well. Definitely need dual belts and good wrap. If you're going to change out your balancer and mod your pump anyway why don't you just cut to the chase and throw on that serp system that you have laying around? I believe that you can simply change the pulley on your existing, soon to be modded pump, and it will fit in the serp setup. There are also "off the shelf" smaller serp pullies from other applications that will work when you upgrade your accessory drive. You can't beat the wrap of a serp system.

I will look at it, thanks.

Yeah I probably should just put the serp setup on, but then I think, why do all that when I can just find a TBI engine with it all on there already? Cause I really need to get rid of this carb nonsense.

Why do you need to change balancer? Just change the pulley.

You know what I meant.

Wow.
