I thought the placement was always like within 2-3" of the collector
 
Yeah thats how my camaro headers are, but im also asking like where to put it so its not in the way of the spring or shackle or driveshaft.

not a huge help than,
just for an FYI, the bung on my factory manifolds, is welded before the collector, drivers side. basically pointing towards the headlight.
 
You may have to set them in place and then see where you'll have the clearance at. Those O2 sensors with their harnesses stick out a couple of inches. You may end up pointing it towards the middle of the truck. :dunno:
 
Maybe mock the headers up and see. Those weld in bungs are only like 10 bucks from jegs.
 
YESSSS!

General rule of thumb, at least for wideband O2's, is 36" downstream. Either go into the side of the collector or right after it in the pipe.
 
I'll just mock them up and probably put it in the collector of the drivers header. I can pick up an o2 bung locally, don't have time for Jegs.
 
I can't remember the direction mine points, but it's in the pipe right after the collector. Planning to go to a heated sensor if I ever get back to the thing.
